Texas loss to Arkansas

Long time UT fan here. Since first memories of watching college football. Texas played a pathetic game last night in a loss to Arkansas. Roschon Johnson had 1 carry and 2 receptions. Terribly underutilized. As a football fan and fan of any PNG grad, I am extremely disappointed with the lack of opportunities that RJ has. He’s one of their better players who goes 110% and is consistently observed as a team leader. Given his now reduced playing time, emphasized yesterday by the playing time given to a new RB transfer, I personally wish he had never committed to UT. But he’s one of many examples of the cut throat nature of college sports. We saw the same thing with Dustin Long at A&M in 2001-2002. My opinion of UT has changed and I doubt I’ll spend much time watching their future games. (I was never a fan of the liberal nature of the university itself.)

Good luck to RJ in his football and life pursuits.
End of rant.

It's a long and brutal season. He may get opportunities as the season moves along. He is too good to be standing on the sidelines. I bet we see him shine soon. He will be success regardless of what he does or where he goes. Sports, business, family, etc. He has the IT factor and he is not afraid to work for his success. I still think UT made a mistake not giving him a shot to be a QB. I would want the ball in his hands on every snap. He threw the best looking long ball I have ever seen in HS football. He could throw the ball up in the air and it would drop right in the hands of the PN-G WRs...he hit them in stride on a long ball and that is difficult to do when DLs and LBs are hanging off of you.

The issue is the opportunities and results were there and are now reduced. Poor utilization of a talent.

Bost is now QB3, but yes, a miracle for him to see any game time in Aggieland. At the end of the day, it is the Bijan Robinson show sadly...he was getting all the hype going into the season and RJ ultimately threw himself on the sword last year when he committed to play RB (because that is what a team player does) and now he is a RB instead of QB like we all wanted him to be ...... a true dual threat QB starting at UT. I was personally shocked when Hudson Card won the QB job after seeing Casey play last year in the bowl game.

Thanks for the article. Great to see one PN-G QB get some recognition for his talent!

Blake Bost, a freshman walk-on from Port Neches, will back up Calzada. Freshman Eli Stowers, a four-star recruit who has been working at tight end, will now focus entirely at quarterback.

Stowers had been working as a tight end this fall but will shift back to quarterback following the injury to Haynes King.

“Stowers has always been taking (quarterback) reps,” Fisher said. “Blake Bost will be in there, too. He had multiple scholarship offers. One of the reasons I felt very good about moving Eli (to tight end) when we did was because how Blake came in and his abilities to throw the ball, run the ball. He had multiple Division-I quarterback offers at really good schools. Now, none of them were like SEC-type schools, but at the same time, I think the guy is a really good player.”

Congratulations to Blake Bost! Do your thing. This Indian supports you come hell or high water. Regarding RJ, he will get opportunities...too much talent and good karma in his favor. Just like Bost, keep doing your thing. This Indian supports you 100%.
