Time to Rally Around the Team

There are still some growing pains as the season progresses. Folks, let's rally around the team and coaches and support them. The offense opened up more tonight, but the ball bounced more Livingston's way with the turnovers. Tough loss for the team on homecoming night at the new Reservation.

Indians will regroup and go to Vidor next week with fire in their hearts!

I hope so. We just can't finish drives. I saw alot that I liked tonight. The playcalling opened up and Tatum looked good when he had time. I would put that 5 yard out thrown 30 yards across the field up for a while. On another note. The stadium is very nice, you just cannot hear the band even one bit in the North end. We can only afford to lose one more game this year and still make the playoffs. I never would have thought we would lose, Ozen would beat Vidor and Lumberton would beat Central. That is a lot of turmoil. We have to play good smart ball from here on out.

As far as the band goes, you'll NEVER hear them, until they turn their horns towards the stadium a bit...that's just physics.

And now to the team. I like the way we rallied to tie at the half, and I really thought we would make better adjustments at halftime to handle that speed on the corners. Poor Tatum never had time to throw, and there was just no way Wright was going to get on the outside on those guys. So you exploit what they're doing and use it to your advantage, at least long enought to get them to change so you can play your game.
Of course it didnt\'t help that we spotted them 2 easy TD's either.

I was impressed with the passing game though. give enough time, Tatum is flat out deadly. We'll just have to play flawless from here on out to make it.

It's gonna be a wild ride for sure.

I also liked the fact that we opened it more on offense. The only negative was that we started run, run, pass and elected to throw the short out patern against the best set of corners in the district. OOPS! The second pick six was tipped at the line. But the middle of the field was open all night and the playcalling seemed to adjust. But the lines (both of them) broke down in the second half, which shocked me because Livingston's line was playing both ways. I really thought we would have worn them down, instead it was the other way around. Haven't seen the PNG Line's get thrown around like that in ages!!!!

Also if you go back and watch the video, Livingston's Defensive end (#12) was jumping the snap all night and was way offsides several times, but it never got called. Not sure if we change the cadence up at all, but we should.

The district is wide open. outside of Nederland, who knows. #2 through #6 will be anybody's guess!

it was clearly a differnt atmosphere at vidor last friday and i even shame my self for being to critacal on coaches and players if any players get on here just know that no matter what this community is behind you. Football is a game of emotion and if you can pump your selfs up you can win out and that to me would be good enough but please play tough and listen to what your told it is all life lessons There is always a winner and a loser but just by dawning on that purple and white make you a legends Thank you png for provide me fun and entertainment on friday nights . None of you kids no me and i really only know you cause of football but i know that if you can give 110% every down there is not a team in the state of texas that can beat you You are the pride honor and tradition in this community and you know what your doing a great job by my standards .

I love the part about receiving the Seal of The Cherokee Nation - I was in High School and on Student Council when we got the that - it was very exciting. Another tid bit of info - one of our students, who is Native American, went to visit the school in Oklahoma and was the first woman ever allowed to sit in on Tribal Council.....I also remember that Chief John (can't think of his last name) said that as far as he was concerned, he would never make us change our mascot, because PNG displayed the Pride and Honor of the Cherokee Nation and that our traditions were displayed in a very respectful and tasteful way - he actually came to a game from Oklahoma.

That is really cool. I wish we would invite them back. I think someone else had posted in another thread that they could perform and Indian blessing of the new stadium. That would be so interesting and a real honor.

I would rather gather around the players only because the coaching is like totally horrible this year I thought Port Neches was going to cruise through this district but they can't seem to win because of the coaching we have I think Matt Burnett last year is now.

That has nothing to do with what we were talking about...but if that is how you feel - OK

what makes me mad is that we spent all this money for the new stadium and we can't seem to get a win in it because of our coaching I mean at least try coach the game so the kids can enjoy at least a win in the new stadium so they can say they are the first to win in the stadium.
