I wish the GT would start a semi pro league with the alumni of each school who live in the area and play each other. Anyone interested in seeing the college and pro aged alumni face off weekly ? (I would) Keep same uniforms/colors. Names, stadiums. Etc. And funded by ticket sales etc only

Ever heard about the games at Liberia Park? Actually got to visit a few when I was a kid. 9 on 9, 11 om 11, 15 on 15, full contact, no pads. Willie Ray Smith, Jr could teach Dieon Sanders how to mouth off. As a kid got to see Willie Ray's college roommate run the football against Mel & Miller Farr and Warren Wells. I wanted the guy's autograph, and while my dad was reluctant, he walked me out there. I had never heard of him but had never seen anyone run like that either. Somewhere I still have that scrap of paper. Anyone know what ever happened to or heard of a guy named Gale Sayers?

Yes the main reason is that apart from the large cities there is wide distances between 6A schools. For instance Tyler (LEEgacy) is the only 6A from the border down to greater Houston and Dallas (correct me if I’m wrong because Lufkin Longview etc are now 5A

Excluding Travis & Bexar Counties there are only two 6A districts West of I-35.

And. Lol. I’m talking about the younguns’ mostly. Either didn’t get an offer to make lay college or just out of college like Morse and Riggs. Etc.

Sounds good. Would be more entertaining and safer to watch than to attempt to bring back the glory days! But I bet I would try anyway, knowing my stubborn arse.
