Instead of everyone sitting around posting negative things about PNG or the board or the coaching staff, let's talk about how good they are.....hmmmm new concept I know but let's give it a try!

First of all for all of the football haters.....football brings in probably the most money of any activity put on by PNG or any other HS for that matter. Not only does it bring in big $ for the district there are more students actively involved at one time than any other sport so naturally most of the focus is going to be given to that sport.

Next, coaching staff....those of you that are on here talking about any bitterness because new coaches were brought in and some coaches families lives were ruffled. First off, when any man goes into coaching it is understood that you probably won't stay at one school your entire career so to get mad when it happens is normal but being replaced is should be expected even if you believe you were great at what you did....head anythings like to bring in their own people. The families of these coaches know this too going into coaching. Now, the new coaching staff....many of you bashing them don't have a clue who or what they are about...go watch practices and workouts and 7 on 7. You will be amazed at how they motivate, encourage, support, and truly CARE about these boys. They high five them, talk them, help them with things they deal with and they are genuinely happy for them and love them all reguardless of their ability. We don't want them to get fed up with the BS talk that is surrounding them and want to leave this great district. They are good for our boys. People are always complaining that the coaches we have had in the past have done nothing but coach through intimidation and act as a dictator. We fiinally have the kind of coaches that mold confident young men and some poeple that got their egos bruised are going to stop at nothing to take it out on people who are actually doing good for our boys and having success.

For the school board....change is good and many got voted in under the pretense that they would continue on the positive path that got startedwith the new coaching staff...all I have to say to the board members that are veering from those promises, beware because you will be found out and be voted out just like you were voted in.

Most of the community like the changes and want the positive path to continue.

I challenge you all to put your ego aside and think of the good that is hppening in this great district, be proud and and stop talking poorly about men that are here for OUR kids.

Good message and you are right. There shouldn't be much negativity at all in Port Neches and Groves TX. New and remodeled schools are in the works, great student success all around, and one of the best football programs IN THE STATE is in your backyard. Cultivate that and don't let anything bring it down. Work out any individual differences as quickly as you can. If some people aren't on board 100%, then throw them overboard.

Thankfully ~95% of what is usually posted here is positive. It's only when the school board conversations start up that it becomes negative.

I LOVE our coaching staff! I was in love with them before we won a game last season. Everything I heard and saw about them was 100% positive. I was impressed that they were reaching out to ALL students, not just athletes. They know the value of having the entire student body involved, active and fired up about all things PNG. Bandkid has mentioned several times how re-energized the whole school seems to be since Coach Faircloth and company have arrived on campus.I was so impressed with what I saw last spring that I made some bold predictions about what Coach Faircloth would do here. I was called out on the "other" message board and ridiculed for being a homer, etc. Thank you Coach and boys for making me look like a genius! IndianFan, I agree, most of the posts on here are positive. What we as acommunity need to do is let Coach Faircloth and his staff know that they have 99.9% of the community behind him and that we will stand behind him, not the .01% that can't let go of the past. Those who would oppose him or cause him problems need to know beyond a shadow of a doubt that we stand behind our coach and understand the consequences they face if they do. snaidni..You are so right..these coaches do genuinely love and care for these boys. We have a very special and unique situation....lets make sure we have it for a LONG time to come!

Great post!
I for one like the new coaches due to the fact that he got the kids motivated, excited to play football, reminds me the days of Coach Doug Ethridge when i grew up in the 70's and was there doing his last years of coaching at PNG i support Faircloth in his coaching philosophy and he stands firm on passing in class.

totally agree that football brings in big bucks , and it is up to our board members to spend the money wisely! I support all the sports at PNG from Volleyball, track, football, baseball, soccer (still learning the rules) and working with the project gradution to help raise money along with PTA and the Booster club.

And i agree with that the new board memembers will have to perform their job for the WHOLE community interests/concerns,or they will be voted out just like the past members were. The tax payers are the customers so to speak that the board has to satisfy. So we need to quit bashing the newly elected board memebers and let them do their jobs that they were voted in to do!

Great post "snaidni"! I agree 100% with your comments. All of our new coaches are wonderful men and teachers that truly care about all of the students--not just the football players. They are very excited to be at PN-G and are dedicated to making all of our athletic programs the best in the state. We are very fortunate and blessed and I for one am thankful for all of the renewed excitement, enthusiasm, and energy around PN-G!! SCALP - EM !!

Outstanding post !What an opportunity we have as Indian supporters to one day see young men and women win state championships.See more scholarships to college when otherwise they may not have that chance. Go on to get an education and become a professional athlete if they choose. But ultimatly be the kind of person that does not cheat on their spouse.Stays out of trouble! But has mastered living a great life. You get the picture. And when asked how they did this it was all part of the Honor, Pride,Tradition that comes from being a Port Neches Groves Indian! I want a reserve seat and some purple koolaid! With this being said I know everyday is not a holiday and every meal is not a feast but this is my prayer for future Indians.

  :clap:Great post  !!! I ran across a documentary today on Netflix called Go Tigers! It is about Massillon HS in Ohio...basically it's the "PN-G" of Ohio. Everything in this town revolves around HS Football and the Tigers....sound familier? The kids start learning the traditions and history of the Tigers basically at birth...sound familier? Their games are standing room only with frenzied fans going crazy....sound familier? They have pep rallys and the whole community comes out in support of the team...sound familier? They have a cross town rival and even if they dont win one game, they MUST win that one....sound familier? Anyway, you get my point, that could easily have been PNG on that documentary. It just showed me that all this political..."good ole boy" crap is stupid and needs to stop!! We have a had some down years and morale has been low with the students and the community, but we're back and we need to stop the BS and put PN-G on the map again! Most of all...we need to take the focus off the gossip with the School Board and put it back on supporting the coaches and the kids, and the rest will work itself out! We need to put on our Purple n White....stand for Cherokee...and cheer 'til our voices give out and forget the rest!! Who knows, someday, someone may come knocking on our door wanting to do a documentary about us....I already have the title picked out....WHO ARE WE??? PN-G!!

7 on 7???? theres no coaches at 7 on 7. ;D

For those that don't know that would be against UIL rules.

I have friends in our Ohio facility that played at Massillion and they had heard of PNG football before I brought it up. Amaizing!

Wow! That's cool badndn! I recently subsribed to Netflix through the Wii and I was browsing through the documentaries when I found that one. It just goes to show you that we've got a great thing here and we need to appreciate it and not let ANYONE rain on our parade! I don't know the details about what is going on with the School Board I just hope to God it doesn't cause us to lose one of the greatest things to happen to PN-G in quite a long time! I was in HS when it happened with Malone, and now my daughter is in HS and just made NDNettes and I would hate for the so called "adults" drama to ruin it!

Mine just made NDNettes as well. I also would have been a 91 PNG grad had I stayed at PNG. I was there in 88-89 (rough year for PNG football).

How neat badndn! Guess you're handing out money hand over fist too...lol! It's really not as bad as I thought it would be...it's the locker boy stuff that i thinks gonna get expensive! She brought home a binder that is handed down to all new NDNettes that is FULL of do's, don'ts, tips, where to get stuff,...etc...it's really handy but they should have just wrote $$$$ on the front of it...lol! Oh well, I know she's gonna have a blast and it will be something she will never forget! Like I said, just hope all this drama goes away once and for all!
