We Need to Get Rid Of....

CrazyIndian, you must be very crazy!! Name fits. I was one who was complaining and I guarantee you that I stand every time I hear Cherokee. I sat in the cold and rain and in the middle of a hurricane to watch the Indians. I would go to California or New York to see the Indians. You missed our entire point! The problem with the cans is that it is Stephenville's tradition which Nederland copied. We want our own traditions, not Stephenville or Nederlands. We are Indians and proud of it! I want to hear the fans make noise not some mechanical noisemaker. We didn't need them when we won state in 1954 or when we won state in 1975 and we won't need them when we win state next time.

well personally all of the people that are against the "cans" y'all are starting to remind me of good ole Pat Briggs who LOVES to take the fun out of everything...the kids really enjoy being loud and supporting there awesome team and the guys on the football team enjoy it more than you even know! why do you think when we are being so quite they turn around and lift ONE hand and we get much louder/go crazy? Another thing...since our band has gotten much smaller in the years and we got a much LARGER stadium we cant hear the band...well that's why the cheerleaders hold up theses really cool signs that say "stand up for Cherokee" even though you might not hear the band but can see the signs we should ALWAYS stand and clap. but I'm sure the people that are grimping about this problem are the ones sitting during Cherokee even though the signs are in there face....? :welcome:

You are right on target about the players turning around and raising their hands up as if to raise the roof. As for me, I think that is one on the saddest sights to see - the players who are out there bumping heads requesting some noise from a stand full of fans. Kind of depressing - like what's the use in us knocking ourselves out when they want even give us a holler. And that is why we stand and make a lot of noise. It doesn't matter if we are ahead or behind in the game -the noise is for the boys.

Right on CRAZINDNFAN!! GREAT 1st post!! I agree totally! Bring on the noise, no matter what kind, as long as the kids and the fans are having fun and raising the roof! This has absolutely nothing to do with copying Stephenville, Nederland, or Joe Blow High School! It's about PN-G students and fans enthusiastically supporting their team and having
" F U N " DOING IT. It is not about copying or starting traditions! Our tradition is that "WE DO SUPPORT OUR TEAM ENTHUSIASTICALLY AND WILL USE ANY AND ALL MEANS TO DO SO"! It is NOT about the props or mechanical devices that we use to create noise for our team. It is all about the enjoyment of the experience, SO RELAX AND ENJOY---AND BRING ON THE NOISE FOR OUR INDIANS BY ANY AND ALL MEANS AVAILABLE!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

You said it and because you said it, and all others who have said they are in favor of whooping in up long and loud, you are requested and invited to get to the Central Game early, got to the 50 yrd. line and then to the top. That's where the rest of the loud mouths will be having more fund than anyone else in the stands. SEE YOU AT THE GAME AND WE CAN PUT SOME FACES WITH THESE NAMES.

glad some one agrees...as fans we should sit back and think about this....if it wouldn't be for the football players, ndnettes, cheerleaders, twirlers, band, ndnette escorts,g-crew or the students. We wouldn't be sitting at the games every Friday night. We are there guest, when people come to your house do you tell them what you like and don't like? NO,most of us are thankful for what they did for you. Truly think about it, in 1954 or 1977 did we have this message board for people to gripe on? NO! we did what the students wanted and what they enjoyed, they didn't have old people running there highschool fun.Since everyone is taking all the fun out of everything its going to come to the point where NO ONE wants to be involved because its so miserable and NO fun.and squaw Ive sat through every single game this year and last so yes Ive sat in the cold and rain and in the middle of a hurricane to watch the Indians
but if you haven't notice we have really fallen off on the tradition thing so good luck with keeping the "tradition" up...by the way the cheerleaders are taking donations to make "mechanical noisemaker" to hand out for our first play off game. good luck trying to stop it. I'll will for sure be bringing my extra larger "mechanical noisemaker" this week to central.
FANS SIT BACK AND ENJOY THE SHOW THAT OUR NDNS PUT ON FOR US.

On the contrary. Mrs. Briggs would do just about anything for the students of PN-G. I can think of far more strict disciplinarians who teach at the high school than Mrs. Briggs. She is a fantastic Assistant Principal and is well-liked among most of the students. The cheerleaders are in the midst of a program to provide noisemakers to the student body made out of empty Aquafina bottles left over from lunch. Since Mrs. Briggs is the student activities coordinator, she could have very easily put a stop to that program, but she didn't. I think she wants the students to have a fun, safe time at the games just like the other principals do.

HEY BANDKID - TELL THOSE CHEERLEADERS TO PUT DRIED BEANS (THEY ARE CHEAP AT THE STORE) IN THOSE WATER BOTTLES. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE ALL THAT MANY IN EACH BOTTLE. WE HAVE DONE IT IN THE PAST AT THE ASTRODOME (CAUSE YOU COULD GET IN WITH METAL CANS) AND WE USED PENNIES OR BEANS IN OURS. THE BIGGER THE BOTTLE THE MORE BEANS.
IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE FANCY. ITS CHEAP, EFFECTIVE AND LOUD. I AM SO GLAD YA'LL ARE GETTING INTO THE FUN US MIDDLE AGE CRAZY LADIES ARE HAVING. JUST GOOD OLE FASHION FUN. I WAS ALWAYS THAT THERE WAS FORCE IN NUMBERS. SO LETS GET THOSE LOUD NUMBERS SOME MORE VOLUME. SEE YOU AT THE GAME.

With all due respect Sir, no one is yelling at anyone. Actually the opposite of which you obviously don't understand. I am merely trying to get some of these fans off their hands and on their feet and to cheer on the team. I am saving my vocal cords for friday night. Rest assured I will be ready and I hope you are too.
