Jeff Joseph just hit 16 straight wins in a row. That’s got to be a record right? Bound to have past Doug Ethridge teams of the 70’s.
Anybody know?
Yes I called it “second pursuit”As long as Coach Joseph and Coach McDaniel are at PN-G, the Indians will win a lot of games. No one will out coach that duo. Their abilities to put together a defense and make in-game adjustments is second to none. They consistently have our kids in the right spots to get a stop or TO. Someone posted in another thread that PN-G has layers or waves of defenders. I think that is spot on. PN-G has layers of pursuit. Tackling will get better with more game experience. It’s only game #1 in a brand new season. If the Indians get rolling and stay healthy, watch out!!!
I would have to say welcome to the third phase of the glory years. The 50's, 70's and now. We have had some good years such as 1989 when we turned the program around (I remember some saying to cancel the program because we couldn't win anymore) and a state title appearance in 99...but consistent dominance like now...All I can say is enjoy it because I remember the 80's and it was dreadful, esp the 88 season. Hopefully PNGISD is paying those two with big bonus'sThis is the second longest win streak in PN-G history. Nine more to tie the record, ten more to break it.
Can the Indians post the fourth undefeated regular season record in program history (1946; 1977; 2009)? Can they play in a third consecutive state championship and win two out of three for the second time in school history (1953-55)? Can they snap the school record for consecutive wins set during the “glory years” the Indian Faithful have reminisced about for half a century (1975-76)? Can the Buc-ee’s in Channelview post record-setting Friday night profit margins yet again? (Yes.)
Can Jeff Joseph make PN-G history repeat itself again in his third season at the helm of the program?
Only time will tell.
Good point. But I will still equate the 70's as true glory years in several aspects. That's when America was America, innocence was still a reality, and pre-Internet and social media. When the Astrodome was alive, Roger Staubach played in Texas Stadium, and PN-G fans left signs "last one out please turn off the lights" while filling big stadiums. And personally, the youthful possibilities of life seemed unlimited. It was magical. This is the second longest win streak in PN-G history. Nine more to tie the record, ten more to break it.

Was he injured on the sidelines? You could tell McDaniel wasn’t on the sidelines last night. He was limping walking up to press box. When on sidelines he’s always making adjustments.
Was he injured on the sidelines?
