Youth Football

Hey everyone!! I'm back posting so it must be time for some Indian Football!! Ok, sorry for posting this here but the youth section doesn't see much traffic. I have a youngster playing for PNGYFA and I recently learned that Pt. Arthur now has a youth league. I was inquiring about where their fields are and was told that Jamaal Charles and his foundation basically gave the league a blank check to purchase whatever they need and they're still looking for land to purchase. First of all, I think it's GREAT that he is giving back to the youth, all kids should have the opportunity to play if they choose!! This got me to thinking, how would one go about reaching out to one of our Celebrity Alumni, (Bum and Wade Phillips), to possibly donate funds to help build better facilities for PNGYFA? The facilities we have now are less than ideal to put it nicely! I just feel our future Indians deserve the best and why not try to reach out to someone that loves football and PNG as much as we do!!! Heck, we can name it Phillips Field if we have to...lol

I passed through Brenham a couple of times on the way to/from Arizona last week and noticed the great looking youth baseball facilities they have there. I wouldn't be surprised if they have the same for football.

PN and Groves are definitely lacking in quality youth facilities. Sounds like something corporate sponsorship might best provide. That is if they're not already tapped out.

Thanks Proud...I knew I could count on you...Haha! I just feel our kids and fans deserve more.than porta potties and a EZ up canopy for a concession stand! I'm thinking we need to build a small facility with stands and everything for our Middle School games and PNGYFA could use it as well. This would also help preserve the turf at The High School. I know we are still trying to get private donations for the indoor facility so that is why I thought of reaching out to Bum or Wade Phillips. Maybe he's been approached before and he's not interested, who knows, but I think it's worth a shot, I just have NO idea how to go about doing such a thing.

Here in portland they are gunna build a Pop warner football stadium. The only stadium made just for pop warner in south texas. It is supposed to be nice! G-P has at least 13 teams in the Gregory-Portland youth football leauge. At least 300 kids are playing just in portland.
