2025 PN-G Indians.

Dan Welch is one of the better OL coaches in SETX. Even if he only sticks around a year or two, the folks working with him (future OL coaches???) will learn a lot. Reminder he coached the PNG OLine in 1999 and they were special and he was at Vidor for a while and we all know that their OL was strong for being small. They were very sound in technique!
Glad he skipped going to Vidor again and came back home. A fresh injection of old blood is not a bad thing. Especially when it’s purple.

We’ve been projected to finish second in the district, just behind Huntsville. They’re returning a strong quarterback-running back duo, both of whom hold Division I offers. We'll be going up against a lot of the top running backs in the state this year.
I hear Huntsville has a new head coach. Is this true?

August 4 - First Day of Practice
August 16 - Media Day
August 21 - LCM Scrimmage
August 28 - JV / Freshmen vs KO
August 29 - Game 1 vs Klein Oak
I'm thinking about watching the first day of practice.
Is it open? Any suggestions/recommendations?
I'll be keeping an eye on Mason Werner, a promising freshman lineman.

I can't imagine why Coach Southerland "retired" from Huntsville? He's a good coach and the Hornets will be loaded. Huntsville should make a deep playoff run. The Hornets may be the team from our district that runs up against SOC for the right to go to AT&T. I have no idea if he was pushed out, burned out, or if he had a better offer to do something different, but if he still had the fire inside to coach, I can't believe he would walk away from his talent in 2025.

Does the incoming FR have some size? Will we continue our run of 6'5" 300 lbs OL? Ware, Jackson, and Wolford? We can always use a couple of 6'4" or 6'5" kids 275-300 on the OL and DL. Go Indians!

Not sure what his stats are. But he's been working hard all summer.

Ace Reeves 6-4 260. What he lacks in size he makes up with a can of whoop a**.

Southerland is the new head coach at Copperas Cove.

Good question that may not ever get an answer in public. Personally I haven't looked into it at all. Is Copperas Cove a larger school? Huntsville seemed to be a weird place last season; couldn't run a game clock, among other things. But anyway whoever takes over will be starting out with a pretty good team, much like Coach Joseph did.

I could've sworn I read somewhere already that Huntsville is picked to win the district this season, with PNG 2nd. I don't know, but I sort of like starting out at #2 rather than #1.

When Coach Southern left, he announced his intention to find a college job. That must not have have happened. Even though he didn’t get his goal, it was probably a fine enough time to leave. He could have stuck it out to take advantage of this year’s good team, but Huntsville always has a good team coming up.

I think Benoit moved to the D-line last season. Anyway, hopefully the guys are all working on their speed this summer. It'd be great if they all cut a few tenths off their 40s. (Or more. )
