Attached are the 2024 Offensive And Defensive Starters by position and grade in Klein Oaks 6A initial playoff lost to a good Bridgeland team at the end of last year’s season. KO was 6-5 on season.
Looking at the charts KO was hit hard by graduation in both the offensive and defensive lines. Dave Campbell Texas Football interview of HC says their success will depend on how quickly the lineman mature.
KO defensive strength is in their returning linebackers. Would appear a key to PNG running game success relies on PNG blockers getting to the second level and putting a body on junior MLB Zach Ruysenaars the returning leader of their Defense.
Last year’s senior QB threw four interceptions in last season’s PNG game. A new QB starter. Very dangerous WR Jonny Craven returns for his senior year. KO big freshman running back Michael Rhodes returns for his sophomore season.

Sounds like they ( Klein Oak) lost alot from last year. I believe if we are successful throwing the ball it will surely open up the run. Just my opinion but running up the middle isnt gonna work , we will have to turn Bailey loose let him make his reads and distribute the ball allover the field, and utilize some Tight end in the passing game as well. Gonna be a fun year cant wait for next Friday!!

Heard from a coach that our offense will look ‘different’ this year. Sounds like Joseph is one to adapt to the personnel that he has available. Going to be fun to watch!

Indians will have the explosive running of Tyson Henry behind another massive oline and what is shaping up to be a potent passing attack. Bailey was an excellent passer as a sophomore. Now he’s taller (6’2”), bigger, stronger, able to see the field better and will benefit from some deep threat receivers this year that will help pry apart the defenses. Opponents will be in trouble if they focus too much on trying to stop the run or pass.

Can’t believe it’s finally here

And will be gone before we know it (the part I hate)
Can’t believe Bailey is 6’2 he never seemed like he was going to be on the tall side

But I guess when you’re standing next to 6’6 315 and 6’4 you tend to look smaller ha

Someone streak naked across the field before kickoff so they can delay start until I get there 7:30 ish
Might take a couple of you back to back

Come on this is a team effort lol

Hey, it’s the Golden Triangle
In two weeks everyone will have forgotten about it and not talk about it anymore after that. Haha

if I or anyone else in my age range did that, children would be traumatized, many would experience temporary vision loss, some might throw themselves over the bleacher railings to escape, or worse case they might even turn to stone. None of those are good options to watch a game so count me out. Leave earlier. :D

Amen. Got to find the edges and creases in the defense. Would be nice if Bailey was a threat to take off running a few times per game.
I would settle for the QB option pitch to the trailing running back like in the 2023 state game against SOC with Blair C. that almost when for a TD.

I thought the same thing about the play in the 2023 state championship game. It was the perfect play call and, but for the incredible athlete's and team speed of SOC, it would have scored. We needed some of that last year; putting kids in open space. Feller had two great years as OC in 2022-2023. In 2023, he was perfect with game planning, play calls, and putting kids in the rights spots. The variety he showed with his playbook, setting up plays, and making opposing DCs look silly spoiled me. He was the right OL/OC at the right time for PN-G. Here's to the 2025 OC having some Felly-like karma with his game plans and play calls. Let's get the ball in open space and see what happens. I think the little slot WR, Gholke, could do some damage in open space. He looks like he has some quickness and could make some things happen in the open field. I am looking forward to Friday night. GO INDIANS!!! Here's to all the kids having a great first game...players, band, cheer, Indianettes, G-Crew, Indian Spirit, NDN Press, and all the other kids. Get involved. Stay involved. Have fun. Be proud you're at PN-G!

I posted in the PNG vs KO thread on SETX, where 30 of the 35 responders pick PNG to win. I'm one of the 30, but it could be a pretty close game. We don't give games away, but for the past few years our first game serves as sort of a second scrimmage. And KO is typically a pretty competitive 6A team. Last season's game was closer than it could have been, and closer than the final score indicated, IIRC. And CJ doesn't seem to want to show too much offensive variety in pre-district games. We'll see.

Last year was way closer than the score. KO gifted us what I think was three turnovers. We still would have won that game — We were in control on defense and moved the ball well all night. But that many turnovers wasn’t indicative of how good we or they actually were. Sometimes a team just doesn’t show up ready for the first game. We’re young with some important inexperience. Hopefully the defense is better this year. I’m thinking PNG 24 to KO 14.

More likely weather delay I hear.

It wouldn't be a PN-G home game if there wasn't a chance of severe weather and a rain delay.

After six weeks of chaos in my office, I am pleasantly surprised to say I'll be introducing my girlfriend to PN-G football tomorrow night. An old high school buddy is bringing his wife to her first PN-G home game, too. Hoping the Indians show Klein Oak who's boss (again).

Congrats x 2
