FINAL: PN-G 48, Nacogdoches 7

To me it’s encouraging that the trainer isn’t sure what the injury is
A torn Achilles (ruptured not slightly torn (or ACL) is rather obvious immediately
But still can put you out of commission on a sprain
Fingers crossed
It does kinda sound like a sprain which he COULD play on in a few weeks but that’s very risky cause you could risk tearing it,but as far as I know Bailey doesn’t have any offers or anything so he may take the risk and go out with a bang! No matter what happens or what the outcome is I know we’re all extremely proud and grateful for everything he has brought to PNG!

It’s like fate wanted me to go to Montgomery stadium at least once this season. I couldn’t go to Lake Creek or the Montgomery game. Guess I get another chance.

37-2 record
Amazing

Bittersweet win. Very tough to see your 3 year QB go down on a senseless hit. Nacogdoches played like that all night with a lot of senseless hits and fouls. A team that would not even make the playoffs in 8-5A. Sorry, no good words for Nacogdoches from this fan.

But it’s encouraging to know that this PNG team is deep and talented. Coach Joseph has been building the team up all season. Every player that saw the field last night made everyone proud. Backup defenders shut down Nacogdoches until that last drive when all the newest players on varsity were out there. And even then they made it difficult for them to score.

If Bailey’s injury is bad enough, the entire team will need to step it up a notch and rally. Dig deep. #18 is a terrific runner and from all accounts a talented passer. He will just need more reps and hopefully can produce quickly. Similar to how Bailey had to step into the role in 2023. But maybe Conner Bailey will make it back. If not, next man up and the entire team needs to flex for what’s upcoming.

Let's not beat around the bush. I blame Jizzy
You're gonna wait until the first playoff game and draw up a qb sneak? We all had reservations about him last year. Every single person on this board did. And this year too. The way he calls games. Give me Feller (sp) any day. Plus the team played down last night. Stop that. Its like an intoxication manslaughter case. The sober one always gets hurt. The drunk guy walks away.

I might be misunderstanding but Bailey wasn’t hurt on a QB sneak if that’s what you mean

How is Gizzi calling a QB sneak responsible for a late hit against Bailey on a pass play?

Bailey was flushed out of the pocket on a pass, rolled to the left, threw the ball away with weight on his left leg. Awkward position with no balance. The defender hit him after the ball left his hand.

Coach Gizzi is growing into the role and has mixed it up well. The Indians are almost 50/50 balanced between run and pass and were averaging close to 400 ypg going into the playoffs. Bailey moves around as he feels pressure and has even taken off with some runs. That’s not the OC on the field.
