Mock realignment

Dallas SOC's defense was on full display vs. Richmond Randle. They are clearly the best team in 5A-DII. #2 - #5...I'd put Richmond Randle, Melissa, PN-G and Brenham in the mix. I haven't seen the Region IV teams play, so I can't rank Boerne or Alamo Heights. Maybe they belong in the mix?

My thoughts on the state playoffs, the tattoo and hair on high-school kids is beyond me.
Yeah, not just small ones either…there were several with whole arm sleeve tats! I’m just gonna say it…they need to start calling it the Texas High School “ghetto-ball” State Championship cause that’s exactly what it’s turning into!! I’ve seen videos of at least 3 different all out BRAWLS that happened during the Dallas “All Stars” games yesterday!

Judging by the halftime score, apparently the Indians had a much better defense than Randle.
I had the same impression based on watching the entire game. Except for a handful of big plays we actually did a good job of keeping SOC’s explosive offense in check. However, they seemed to move the ball pretty much at will against Randle. Additionally, we even moved the ball better overall against SOC than Randle IMO.

It appears that PNG was their biggest challenge since preseason at least. A 100% healthy PNG offensive firing on all cylinders would have had a shot at winning that game. Yes they’re good, but so were the Indians.

It’s a big positive and motivator to go into the offseason with. You can rest assured they plan to be back. Indians need to tweak some things and do all the prep required to beat them. Other teams claim to have a ‘culture’ of work and winning. I’m here to say no team is going to outwork the PNG Indians. It’s time to rise and it started yesterday. Become leaders and achievers. Exceed limits, reset the bar and keep climbing. Zero reason you can’t beat any team.

After watching most of the top 5A DII teams play on NFHS and TexanLive, I'm more convinced than ever that, with a healthy Connor Bailey, we had the best chance of beating SOC. With Bailey slinging passes to our stellar receiving corps, we would have been a challenge for their defense. Heck we moved the ball pretty well as it was. Except for a couple of turf monster stumbles, we would have been in that game. It felt like we were just waiting for an offensive spark to happen and we would have grabbed the momentum. Not to mention that we did the best job of shutting down the SOC running game by far.

PA Memorial was by far the biggest challenge to Smithson Valley in the D1 playoffs. We should definitely consider putting them back on the predistrict schedule.
Every year is going to be a different story, since they were a very heavy senior team, and might not be as strong as this years team.

Ok. Who does this benefit or hurt? Thoughts immediately go to some school with influence that wanted this. Similar to what LH got with region 3 teams being moved to region 2.

If not for that I think PNG would have been in the state championship game again this past season.

5A schools moving from D1 down to D2 after the adjustment:
Humble Kingwood Park
Richmond Tomas
Frisco Emerson
New Caney Porter
La Joya Juarez-Lincoln
Wichita Falls Legacy
Donna
Houston Spring Woods

Several teams in our potential region. Really curious what the new district will look like now. Another New Caney Team. Plus Kingwood Park and a west Houston team. Could end up with north Houston area district. Randle and Colony move up but another Richmond team moves down. Im hoping with more Houston teams in the fold this helps push us back the the 409 district.

Ones that will directly affect PNG that i know of is staying 5AD1 is Richmond Randle & Iowa Colony. Kingwood Park & New Caney Porter is 5AD2 numbers. Dont know who opted up or staying down in the Houston ISD schools. My guess PNG & Nederland be sent to Ft. Bend district while Dayton stays in Montgomery district with Porter & KWP. But who even has an educational guess when it comes to the UIL

The latest alignment i seen that kinda makes sense for region 3
