Just wanted to ask you all to keep my son, known here as The Rabid Fan and PNG c/o ‘22 grad in your thoughts and prayers as he officially takes the Oath Of Enlistment tomorrow morning and heads off to USAF basic training! We are so INCREDIBLY proud but he’s my “baby boy” so I’ve had a HARD time letting him go! Friday Night Lights are gonna be REALLY tough because I haven’t been to a game without him either by my side or in the stands with the band but I know he’ll be watching NDN Press on YOUTUBE and keeping up with all things PNG FOOTBALL here every chance he gets!! He’s just gonna need to change his user name to AIRMAN Rabid Fan soon :)

1. Thanks for your service.
2. Prayers for your safety. More prayers for your mother and your family.
3. Remember: Whatever the case may be, if you are a USAF service member, a blue collar worker, a white collar worker, college graduate, lottery winner, trust fund baby, astronaut, CEO, President, or whatever you become in life, you were a PN-G INDIAN first! Hold on to PN-G's core values of Honor, Pride, and Tradition and you will be successful beyond your wildest dreams.
4. Good luck and God bless you.

GO INDIANS. Peace.

Best of luck to you. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. One of my PN-G classmates (c/o 2011) enlisted in the Air Force and has stayed there ever since. It's developed into a great career for him. He's now married and just had his first child. Hoping your experience is just as positive.

Thank you all SO MUCH for the kind words, support, and encouragement! I got to talk to my future Airman this morning and he said it’s TOUGH but he’s handling it good so far and sounded better than I expected cause I’ve heard the first couple calls can be pretty hard!
He’s in the 321st Training Squadron…GO WARTHOGS, and was selected for the Band Flight that performs at Graduation so I guess is trumpet playing and marching days aren’t quite over…lol!

Proud of all fellow alumni, past present and future that serve our country. And it is awesome to hear about going to the Air Force. Best wishes.

And bless you mom for hanging in there. Having a kid fly away from the nest is one of the toughest things to handle for a caring parent.

Playing in the band is a nice gig there, you get to miss a few other things in order to practice music. Lucky fella. I remember seeing them through a window sometimes as we marched by wishing I learned to play an instrument, haha. My training squadron was 323rd back in 1998.

It did not look that way from the outside looking in. Very interesting.
The focus is to get done with boot camp without delay or unnecessary distractions. Put your best effort for class ranking. Be ranked #1 top of class.
Of course this depends on the band director, other players, etc. Mine sucked big time.

I got the first letter from the Rabid Fan today! He said it’s been pretty tough at times and he gets homesick a lot but he’s doing good! He was appointed Chow Runner for his group, which is probably one of the MOST stressful jobs cause they get yelled at….ALOT but it’ll build strong leadership skills and TOUGHNESS! Anyway, I mainly just wanted to share he said Church is like a PNG Playoff game cause they have to get there EARLY and wait 2-3 HOURS to get in! :p

One of the highest honors one can obtain in America. He is a true hero. May God Bless him on his journey. He is now part of a volunteer very elite part of our society that has signed to be a true defender of freedom. Thank you, and thank him for his service.

I almost went into the Navy then PN-G threw a wrench in it. I was either going Navy or firefighter or both at once. PN-G forced my hand into HVAC. I did that for 13 years after I finished HVAC college. Then at 31 I went to EMT school in the fall of 2003. ( My 4th kid was born in April of that year). I joined the fire academy at LIT in Jan of 2004. I went right back to HVAC the Monday after I graduated from the fire academy. Then two years later I got a call from Motiva needing firefighters and the rest is history. Just finished my 20th year as a firefighter at Motiva. Often I wish Id went for the Navy as my father did during Nam. My grandfathers basically whole family before him in WWII and his father and all his brother before them in WWI.
