ok? our D is pretty good also, we returned 9!
I heard Ingleside burned ya'll passing the ball....Not a good thing for a defense facing Doty and company. PNG 31-7.

And the smack talk begins
Not talking smack..I just gave my prediction based on what I have heard about ya'll having trouble defending the pass. That and the fact that we shut down 2 high powered wing T offenses last year. G-P king..I respect GP..I just think we will match up really well against ya'll on both sides of the ball.

If G-P really does have problems stopping passes, then they're going to have trouble with our offense. Our QB has a great arm and connects well with his receivers.

That being said, I'm going to go with a more conservative prediction and say 21-10 PN-G (maybe 21-14 if the Wildcats get lucky). Our defense is awesome and has been since Kroeker took over as Defensive Coordinator, but it's the first game and I think we'll need a little time to adjust. If we do get far enough ahead, I think Faircloth will rotate in the second string because A) we've got a big enough target on our backs in this district as is, and B) in pre-season, it's never a bad idea to minimze the risk of injury where reasonable. And besides, it's the Alamodome. How awesome would it be if we could give several of the auxilliary players some time on the field in San Antonio?

Bandkid, how is the band looking this year?? Have we gotten any larger in numbers?

We stand at about 185 in numbers and word around the band hall is that there are still a few students waiting to transfer in from other districts. Because many are involved in sports as well, the numbers on the field will stay the same at around 120, but there will be more in the stands. Also, the fifth bass drum (the BIG one) has returned to the percussion section along with the second quint, and there are nine tubas this year - the most since I've been in band. According to Mr. Wells, this is the largest roll the band has had since the late 90s.

I respect PNG but the funny thing is when u dont respect G-P! :faint:
G-P King - I don't know how we can not help but respect your team with an experienced QB and 9 returning defense starters! Even though I realize that an undefeated season is probably unlikely, I always think PNG will beat who ever we are playing in any given week. Should be a good test for both team. Have a good trip to the Dome - see you there!

When I was in band (when the earth hadn't been named yet) we marched 180. Military style! We could really stretch the entire field too, I tell ya!

GP83, do you have any info on how G-P is doing on ticket sales for the Alamodome game?

I heard we're doing great on sales...I expect a very good crowd...not that it really matters though, because the way I see it, the game is played on the field. Our defense will be ready after holding opponents to an average 10 points per game last year. We have NEVER looked good in scrimmages including 5 years ago when we were ranked as the #1 team in the State. This offense takes some time to get unity...we'll be ready when we meet, and we'll sure be ready come playoffs. I just want a great game, but we won't be suicidal if we lose.
You are right in that the game is played on the field. However, the INDIAN NATION will rise to the occassion and are a force to be reckoned with. I expect a good and hope that no one gets injured and all fans return home safely.
