Video of the JV and freshman teams show some receivers on the other end of a lot of throws. Does anyone know much about them?

Even if they’re not burners, receivers who run good routes and have good hands count for a lot when an accurate QB is throwing to them. But it would be great to have a Preston Riggs type of receiver with the ability to separate.

Tate has been an excellent varsity kicker for three years. He will be a factor in close games!

Wow! 60...65 yards. Per the PN-G Indians website, the record for the longest FG is 53 yards by Keith Waguespack (1989). Sandell may get a shot to crush that record with a 60 or 65 yard bomb. Good luck. And, one more thing, I've said it before and will say it again, with a kicker that can kick the football out the stadium, NO MORE POOCH KICKS. Tear that page out of the playbook. Let the kid kick the ball out of the endzone. When the ball sails through the endzone, there will be no run back and the opposing team will start from the 25-yard line. Keep up the good work Tate Sandell...kick BOMBS.

Go Indians. Peace.

Mr. BG...tell us more. Out-of-town PN-G alums/fans would like to hear more about our WR. I know from past posts that you know a lot about most SETX schools and who their personnel might be on Friday nights. Does PN-G have a hidden gem at WR?

Go Indians. Peace.

PNG has had some great receivers in recent years. Some over 6’, some under 6 like Kaleb Sparks, Amir Jalali, etc . Cole Crippen has had some nice targets on sub-varsity and they have smoked the competition. I’m sure we have some talent coming up from the JV teams.

Great quarterbacks make great receivers and vice versa. No lack of either in PNG history.

I have no clue who prepballfan is referring to. This might be the first year under Fairchief that I do not know who any of the Png WRs are.

One thing is as certain as oxygen, PNG’s system will almost always produce an above average QB, receivers and passing game. The only exception was 2012 when the QB talent was in transition. Walker ended up being an excellent QB but his injury ended that season in more ways than one.

I agree...we generally have a great passing game. Last year, I think we struggled some against the better teams because our WRs could not get much separation against good DBs. No doubt, we have kids that catch the ball. Our kids are not afraid to go get the ball in traffic. They are not afraid to catch the ball and get hit. The problem is that lack of separation puts a lot of pressure on the QBs to be perfect with the throw. The window to complete the pass is pretty small when a DB is stride for stride with the WR. I can remember years ago when PN-G had Jalali and Sparks. Those kids were not big, but they were blessed with outstanding quickness. They got open and created problems for defenses when they got the ball in open space. They got away from DBs in open space and had plenty of time to catch the ball and make a move. It would be nice to have another WR like that. Of course, it would be extra-nice to have another Preston Riggs...he got open, caught everything in the neighborhood, and then he could run away from DBs as he put the ball in the endzone. I hope some of the young WRs in the Crippen video can produce like Jalali, Sparks, and Riggs. If so, the Indian offense with Crippen (QB), Trahan (RB), and an experienced OL will be hard to stop. Here's to hoping we can control the line of scrimmage and have a strong run game. When that happens, PN-G is usually a three-round deep (or more) playoff team. I do like what I see in the Crippen video.

I'll go check out two a days my first day off work and have plenty more opinions after that. I hear our new DC is pretty hard nosed at coaching. I like what I have heard about him

PNG also had a near 2000 yard rusher every season. Then RJ stepped into that role and we haven’t quite gotten to back to having a strong RB. Maybe Trahan will pick up the baton and go for 1500-2000 yards. All depends on how good the online is.
