*crossing fingers* anywhere but Dallas - Jerry Jones is the devil. ;) BTW camp pictures from Austin, plus a really cool poster they had there. It was HANDS DOWN better than the Bijon camp. The kids were tired afterward, they worked them. I was impressed. It wasn't a pep rally - it was a skills camp. And they didn't charge a dime. Classy.

I'm hoping for the best fit for him on a team that will utilize his skills (and on a team I can stomach haha) .... but all jokes aside, I know his name won't get called tonight, but hopefully that call comes tomorrow. Regardless of where he ends up, I'll be following that team. I pretty much stopped watching NFL football the past 2 years on TV, but I will have to watch now assuming RJ is on one of the teams on TV.

Same here. I watch sports for entertainment, not political opinion or social theory. That goes for all sports at all levels.

Regardless of where he goes or what position, all drafted players are guaranteed a 4 year contract and even the last man picked will be paid in the range of $750-800K per year. Not bad for a first job!

Hope it’s not a team I hate, because I will be forced to become a fan!!

All first round picks will sign four-year deals, with the team having an option to extend the deal to a fifth year. After the first pick the salaries will drop consistently and the 31st pick in the first round - currently Kansas City's pick - will be able to sign a deal worth around $12.75 million.

In the second round of the Draft, contracts will be worth between $6 million and $12 million. The first pick in the third round can sign a deal worth $6.25 million while the last pick in the third will have to settle for a $5.4 million deal.

Fourth rounders will get between $4.5 million and $5.4 million. Fifth rounders will all get more than $4 million and less than $5 million. The first pick in the sixth round will get $4.1 million and the last pick in the sixth (No. 217) will get $3.98 million. Slightly more than $3.925 million that Mr. Irrelevant, pick No. 259, will make.

You can check out the salary for each individual pick over at Spotrac, but this serves as a nice general guide if you don't want to get into the nitty-gritty.

Exactly how I feel...!
I've promised my son a Johnson jersey regardless of where he lands (might get one myself).

"please don't be Dallas....... please don't be Dallas......"

Yeah, I have family up there as well. I just want him to get a shot....period. (even if it's Dallas)....
Anyone paying attention to the draft? I've been searching all day, but they want you to sign away your first born and pee in a cup before you can watch it..... ugh

Our whole family is gathered around the TV, I'm still working, but in the loop. Wonder where his "watch party" is???? BTW, sources say his hometown is Port Arthur....... I find that unsettling. Is it really?? Why would he put that? I thought he lived in Groves?

He moved to Groves and lived much of his life there I think. But some of PA and Nederland is in PNGISD so it’s not clear cut anymore. Certainly much better schools in PNGISD or Nederland ISD.

I was born in PA, as a lot of us were, but don’t claim it as my hometown. Hometown is where you grew up and attended school.

Two running backs went in the first round. That bodes well for RJ as he’s not that much of a drop off from those guys. Maybe he has a shot at the second round.
