While we're talking about WO-S, with last year's state title win, PN-G has tied the Mustangs for the most state title wins and most state championship appearances of any Golden Triangle-area program at four and eight, respectively.

If we win another state championship this year, we'll reclaim the records for most titles and appearances of any Golden Triangle-area team--accolades the Mustangs wrested away from the Indians in 2016 and 2017, respectively.

I don't know about y'all, but I'm really enjoying PN-G being the Golden Triangle's standard bearer in high school football again.
WO-S is done until a coaching change, and it will probably come too late to save the program. But, the noisemakers got the coach they wanted...

I'm curious, assuming we win and SoC loses, if they move us up to #1 or will it stand pat considering who they have to play. I would understand if it was a close game (21 pts or less) but anything over that I think they should fall.

Eh, I don’t give much thought to DCTF rankings…their 5A div II preseason ranking had us #1 and SOC #2…no games have been played yet and they already flipped the script with their “power rankings”, whatever that means…lol!

I like the Sports Illustrated guys…they have us ranked #10 out of ALL Texas HS Football teams, regardless of classification.

I noticed something on the rankings. Go look at EVERY team listed. We are the only team in which our mascot is not referenced (well, us and the Raiders of Denton Ryan). We are just "Port Neches-Groves," whereas, every other school is listed as "Desoto Eagles" or "Duncanville Panthers" or "Katy Tigers." More of the woke BS in the media.

The tide of that idiocy is slowly turning with many major U.S. corporations shifting away from focusing on politically correct details rather than core values. Unfortunately someone in charge of publishing the rankings and team names didn’t get that message. Or have not truly ‘woken up’ yet. Meanwhile they can’t think past the divide that exists in their minds, or spend those cycles on truly honorable causes.

Hey they listed the Scots
I’m offended
1725115091401.png

You mean Scottish people once had warriors who fought and defended their families as has every civilization since the beginning of time? ;)

More cultural appropriation? Use of name and imagery that is outside of the original cultural context, sometimes even against the expressly stated wishes of members of the 'originating culture'?

Should I now assume that everyone of Scottish ancestry is a terrible and fierce killer who has yet to evolve their behavior? Does this harm their self image and minimize their place in society?

The answer is no.
