2025 Running Game

Some great offensive linemen and running backs were lost to graduation. But this season looks promising.

There are still some hosses on the o-line. Tyson Henry is back for another season after a 1600+ yard sophomore year. And rumors have been out there regarding some upcoming running back talent.

Any thoughts?

It’s hard to think the o-line won’t be at least a little worse. You don’t lose the best lineman you’ve ever had without leaving a massive hole. On the other hand, we still have Wolford and a lot of size and experience coming up. Even if the individual position Jackson Christian occupied doesn’t have him in it anymore, I think we can get the sum to be greater than the parts.

I believe the receiving core will be better than last year, that should help out the running game alot. With Tyson and Bailey being another year older and with more experience I think that will make up some from missing Jackson.

Attached is a guess of the returning offense by position and grade. A very heavy senior laden team. The offense line and blocking halfbacks will not be as mature as in past years.
This season’s Offense must have a complementary diversified passing scheme with multiple options including short pass patterns to go with a strong running game. TE has been a forgotten position in the passing attack.
Cannot expect this season’s offensive line and blocking halfbacks to provide last year’s QB protection time for long yardage pass attempts to a single 2025 receiver (#17).
PNG QB is a very talented passer but a lot of pressure is put on QB on long yardage 2nd and third down pass attempts. Senior QB season passing yardage has declined each year. A pass to a blocking half back slipping out of the backfield is not creative and is now being defended. Only a few Screen pass attempts last year looked like intentional grounding with apparent limited practice.

Learn from utube videos of Todd and Riley Dodge passing schemes to complement a strong running game. PNG forever. PNG Players will always perform to the level they are coached.

Yes last years was an Achilles for us

The addition of '27 WR Daylan Jackson is huge for this team. 6'2, 4.4 40, and jumps out of the gym. One of the Best Athletes i've ever seen come out of PNG.
Beginning to sound like there could be multiple targets that opposing defenses will need to account for.

Here’s a few. Need to revisit it and add some more recent players. Typically a few years should pass. Roschon Johnson being an exception . He was immediate. (Unofficial fan selections based on accomplishments.)
