I am obviously late to chime in on this thread. I have been very busy the last few weeks.
I hated seeing the boys go down, especially after such a successful season. They came out of the gates firing on all cylinders in the first game and the scoreboard reflected that. But, they looked tired late in the second game and that fatigue seemed to hang over into the third game. The scoreboard seemed to reflect that, too.
I was afraid going in it wasn't a good idea to double up the first two games on that Friday. I get that graduation was Thursday night and had to be accommodated. Still, I think the lesson learned is to double up on Saturday next time. The other team seemed to have more depth, particularly on the pitcher's mound, and I think that carried the day for them. In a situation like that, our best bet is to keep our troops as fresh as we can. This is not intended as a criticism of anyone, just a suggestion for similar situations in the future.
Congratulations to the players and coaches on a fantastic season. This year clearly brought our best overall performance since the championship run in 2017. I'm very much looking forward to continued success from the Indians' baseball program. Best of luck to Kingwood Park the rest of the way. Scalp 'em.
