Fair enough. I'll will be personally flabbergasted if they run tougher than what I just saw last night. Simon was a beast. And we contained.
I'm all about being cautious. But also, at some point you throw down the gaulent and win.
I think we're starting that path.
They don’t have anyone like Simon, and their o-line isn’t close to La Porte’s. I’d even say the o-line has regressed. Basically, every play they call depends on the runner simply being a better athlete than the defenders. Not a lot of blocking, just a hope that someone misses a tackle. They’ve definitely taken a step back from last season. We’re better than them. Still have to execute at game time, of course.

Of course. Now I have to go watch their last game lol... its the story of their coach that told me the truth. All this skill, and no director to play it properly. But thats just my opinion. Losing Southern is a big deal imo

Yes I realize things can happen. But in the grand scheme of things... if we lose to HV? Do we have a true chance at state? Probably not.
Thats why us beating LP is so important. Look at what SOC is doing. It's not pleasant, but it's reality. You have to condition to meet that adversary.

I literally just finished watching their last game. I don’t want to say it was terrible, but it’s not the Huntsville we’re used to. They’ve lost tackling fundamentals. The blocking when it mattered most, at the end, was terrible. There’s one play where Huntsville could have won the game on the 1 yard line and the tackle stands straight up, doesn’t take a single step toward the defender, and puts his arms out (blocks no one) and his Rb nearly gets decapitated at the line of scrimmage. That play gave cedar park back the ball with a chance to win, and allowed them to force overtime. Then on the last play the whole line pulled and not a single person was blocked, resulting in a fumble. The worst blocking is around the edge - Lead blockers run out and really don’t affect the play all that much. There’s exceptions, of course. I might be being too critical, so I’d be interested to hear what you think. I need to give the QB back some credit - He was pinpoint in the later part of the game on some crucial sideline passes. If he continues to improve he’ll be a force - An accurate, smart qb who’s also blazing fast is a problem. Right now he looks like what he is: a sophomore.

Great take away. I feel like that's on point. I'm literally going to watch that game now.

One thing I’ll say that’s really surprised me is T-High has seemed to regress quite a lot I know there’s a TON of season left and we’ll see if they can put it together but while they’re offense is still pretty good it does NOT look nearly as explosive as last year and they’re defense has looked pretty bad. Now SOC they are REALLY scary to be playing two if not three levels above and some of the best teams in the state and all three games be that close is CRAZY we’re gonna need a lot to go our way but we got the best coach in the state on our side nothing’s impossible!

I do believe Usedtocould may have had an attempted orange and white transfusion years ago but his body rejected it completely. He is a purple and white brother through and through.
Oh that happened 52 years ago lol
My first and ultimate experience with TXHSFB was at the reservation
I’m a third generation THS graduate and I DO root for THS but when we played at Nachitoches the “us” was PNG no doubt about it.

We shouldn’t count out Huntsville. They’re solid, and are capable of being dangerous if they can get more consistent on defense. And they’ve played better competition than Dayton and Montgomery. Here’s my rough district power rankings, now that preseason is over:

1 PNG
2. Huntsville
2. Dayton
2. Montgomery
5. West Fork
6. Nederland
7. Splendora
I think
PNG
Montgomery
Dayton
