All-State Selections

Logan LeJeune arguably had a better season than 2015 when he was honorable mention selection to the THSCA All-State team.
Preston Riggs had a more productive season than 2015 all-Stater Caisen Sullivan had.
Roschon Johnson stands out on the state-wide stage.

All on a solid team that went a few rounds into the playoffs. What other players do you think are deserving of consideration?

Re: No All-State Selections

Could be an oversight because it looks like the TSWA teams are usually announced in February. Maybe I was looking at the 2015 team. :thud:

We can see the AP selections here...

WOW!!! That's a huge snub to any player south of Dallas/Ft. Worth. That list gives the impression that every good player in the state resides in or near the Metroplex with a few sprinkles in the Hill Country. Not surprised though...been that way as long as I can remember.

May be oversight on my part, but I see no PA Memorial players on either all-state list. How is that possible?

Seeing this core group of PNG players illustrates how great teamwork and dedication results in recognition. I expect to see some Memorial standouts on the lists as well.

If Dylan McGough had gotten more playing time, or balls thrown to him, I think he could have been on the receiving end of his share of post season honors. He had good size, great hands, deceptive speed, and was a good blocker. Watching these highlights, he stands out.

Preston Riggs also stands out as he gets behind Memorial's secondary on two big receptions. Riggs is fast!

Dylan is a great receiver but I think McZeal was the focus of the wideout that's why Dylan picked up at the end of the season once McZeal was hurt , slot receiver is also a big part of the system Faircloth runs . It's gonna be Inresting to see who gets moved around at the skill positions on offense next year

I like when BF has a small, shifty and fast slot receiver for his offense. Ex. Amir Jalali (spelling?) and Kaleb Sparks. When he have a speed threat in the slot, the offense seems to find its groove more often than not. Don't get me wrong, I like having big/tall kids at the wideout spots with Riggs, McGough, McZeal, etc., but throwing to the slot on a quick/hot route when teams like PAM, Central, nederland, and vidor come with a blitz makes the offense dangerous. We do not always have time to throw deep to the big WRs. When we have a Jalali or Sparks taking a 2-yard flat route to the end zone, it makes teams think twice about blitzing. That gives the Indians time to throw deep to our taller guys who can go get the ball. twrpng is right...it will be interesting to see who gets moved around to the wide out, slot, H-back and TE spots. QB and RB seem ready to roll.

On defense, we need DL and LBs. I'm sure we have some playmakers in the pipeline. I hope.

Go Indians. Peace.

I heard this from Faircloth that Stansbury was moving from safety to WO reason because he's 6'2 good hands and has decent speed, I like the move

A receiver like Sparks is exactly what's needed. But they don't often come along. Sparks could outrun anyone and his YAC (yards after catch) were incredible.
I remember one game where he ran away from the db that is now playing at Alabama.

If the Indians can put together a solid offensive line, that offense next year will be state championship caliber. Throw in a solid defense and the sky's the limit.
