Thanks for sharing that. The technique that Coach Cobb taught his players was how undersized players were able to excel. He was definitely a more calm and collected football coach.I love that man. I had the great opportunity to coach with him for over 20 years at PNG. Coach Cobb helped me learn how to be a good coach and a good man. Coach Cobb led a group of men in the Vietnam War, taught History, coached defensive ends, was the Head track coach and ran the summer recreation program for many years. Coach was able to influence a lot of young people. He once told me that yelling at the kids was easy but coaching technique was the challenge that would help any student playing sports. I was able to see him often this last football season because my granddaughter is an Indianette. I am happy that the last game I saw him at I gave him a big bear hug.

Sad to hear. He coached defensive ends during the glory years of the 70s. Condolences to his family.
Coaches Doug Ethridge, Butch Troy, Wayne Hooper, Don Bryson, Roy Esquivel and Terry Cobb now gone.
Coaches Bruce Bush and Greg Davis are still with us.
And unless someone has updated information, coaches Wayne Winn and Ken Clearman are as well. They would be around 90 and 84 respectively.
Rest in peace men. You will not be forgotten.
1975 Revisited
All we wanted for Christmas was a State Championship back then too. Blessed to be alive and witness both. https://www.pngindians.com/football/1975-aaaa-state-champions/ Look for a more elaborate page on pngndians.com in the future dedicated to the 2023 Championship. I thought about how cool...forums.pngindians.com

2025 Season
I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever. -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
