Found this in the 1973 War Whoop - Superintendent McCollum retired at the end of the 1972-73 school year and was replaced by Oliver Monk.

The funny thing is that while I was a student, I never had any clue that Mr. McCollum had been a football coach, much less the one that led the us to a state championship. He was just the "Superintendent" whatever that meant. It wasn't until the book by Buck Ford that I really appreciated what he meant to PNG football history.
Mr. Monk was the high school principal when I was there. So I saw him often - fortunately not in his office! His wife was my Speech class teacher at PNJHS and later mayor of Port Neches. A very nice lady and good teacher.
