On a Wednesday if I remember correctly

Obvious intent to exclude the Reservation. That’s ok. We know the game. And we know the score on stadiums. They can exclude it, but it remains one of the best. That does not need to be validated by media editors or polls. Nor does an exclusion mean anything. The prior ‘recognition’ isn’t undone.

Besides, the stadium is just the physical site of what really makes the game great. The spirit of the community and the experience that only the PN-G Indians fans, band and all other groups bring to a game in that setting is the experience. You will only find that in Port Neches, TX. After multi decades of watching other schools/teams perform, and seeing their community support, there is nothing better than the Rez. No matter the classification.

(1) These polls are just for clicks. The advantage being they bring in eyes from a wide swath of schools. I don’t know what there’s anything purposeful about leaving us off. They probably generated the list randomly. DCTF probably doesn’t get a lot of eyeballs from schools like Livingston. They get plenty from engaged, excited fanbases like PNG. New eyeballs bring in new dollars.

(2) We don’t need anyone to say anything nice about PNG. We are what we are no matter what the headlines say or don’t say. Being sensitive about being “left out” makes us seem insecure, like we need someone to confirm over and over again how special PNG is or we worry it’s not true. PNG already gets more attention than all but a few schools.

(3) We don’t even make the top twenty in the state. The Reservation is a good stadium, but it’s not anything that extraordinary when compared to a lot of the newer stadiums (several years ago, we did have an advantage, and still do over most). I’d argue, however, that we don’t even have the nicest stadium in our area. La Porte, the Butch, Huntsville, Montgomery ISD— all have a better claim than us. If you expand to all of Houston the list gets even bigger.

Like IndianFan said, what makes the Rez special is what WE bring to it, not the structure itself.
