Good post! I will also support whoever is hired 100%. Husband's family been here since the 20's and there were lots of times a booster club was suggested and then rejected. Why?? Go across the tracks to Nederland and you can learn why. Booster clubs, especially football, have prominent members who begin to tell the coach how to coach the team, what they liked and did not like, and, in general, politics run rampant. This eventually hurts the entire program. Personally, I say hire the best coach, pay the best salary and let the coach do his job. If he doesn't, replace him ASAP. PN definitely doesn't need any more political BS.IndianFan said:A couple of years ago the HS admin was all for an overall athletics booster club that would benefit all sports. Only Matt Burnett was against having one. That's his prerogative but now it's a new era and I believe it will happen. Booster clubs are a huge deal across the state and the new coach will likely be used to having one. if not, that's his choice as well. I will support the new coach 100% regardless.
