Exciting news!!

I'm sure most of you are familiar with the Christian radio station 90.5, American Family Radio! Well, several weeks ago I was listening to their nationally syndicated morning show, JJ and Ron in the Morning, and heard them say they were having a Friday night high school football contest where they will come to one of the winners football games and tailgate, broadcast from the game, and sit with the fans! You had to submit a essay, 200 words or less, about why they should be our biggest fans!! They have been doing this for 3 years, but so far no winners from TX! :thud: So, I took it upon myself to submit a essay about PNG...cause we all know it's the best HS football in TX!!

Well, I'm pleased to announce that WE WON!! :woot: :woot: So, they will be attending one of our games, right now it looks like it will be our last game against Livingston, Nov 8, possibly the Oct 25 game vs Vidor!! I hope we can get lots of people on board to help welcome them and make this a experience they will never forget!! They will be contacting me soon to set up all the details, but for now I know that when they arrive in Port Neches...the first thing they want to do is get decked out in purple and white...yay for SHOPPING!! Then they will attend the pep rally...hope they're ready...lol!! They have a FB page, JJ and Ron! Go like their page, and welcome them to Indian Nation! They have already changed their profile pic to our PNG Indian logo!! ;D I am trying to get a copy of my essay from them to share here! I submitted it through the entry form on their website, and I thought it may email me a copy, but no such luck!

I would also like to setup a nice tailgate experience for them, if any of you expert tailgaters want to help with that!!

Alright, that's pretty cool. If they go to the Vidor game, I bet they'll start coming every year. ;D

I got the official word that it will be the game on Nov 8 vs Livingston! That's the only one that would work with their schedule! Vidor game would've had a larger visiting crowd, but either way, I seriously doubt they've seen anything like football at The Reservation! Here is the link to my essay!

Unfortunately for them the Livingston side will probably be empty and some of our folks may be Hunting. If they could have made that game with Vidor, they would have seen a packed houes and maybe, if things go right, a game with District Champion implications. Sure would be nice if they could be persuaded.

Yeah, I know, but I mentioned it to them and one of the guys has a speaking engagement on the 25th! The logistics of them trying to get here for a game before the 25th would be too much! I have a feeling, even with a smaller crowd, they probably haven't experienced HS football like ours before, so it will be a great experience for everyone!! I just need help getting the word out so we can get as many people as possible to the game!!

Thanks, but the tradition and pride we all have in our school and communities, and our commitment to our Faith is what sold them on us...I was just the messenger, so a huge thanks to Indian Nation for representing the community involvement and values that they were searching for!

Now, if possible, I would like to announce the good news, and read my essay at the BC meeting Mon night! I usually attend the meetings anyway, but I just want to make sure it is ok first!

Awesome! Can't wait to tell Coach!! I think we need to have some of the kids teach them the Housequake dance...2 words...Pep Rally...haha! They are both very funny guys and are game for anything! I've been talking to Ron through text and FB the last couple of days and they are VERY impressed with PNG and can't wait to cheer on the Indians with Indian Nation!! :woohoo: I sent him the We are Indian Nation lip dub from last year and they liked it so much they posted it on their FB page! If you get a chance...tune in to 90.5 between 6 and 9am and listen to their morning show! I'm sure they will be talking about us quite a bit over the next month!!

The date is officially confirmed! Nov 8 it is...PNG vs Livingston! Hoping for a sale out! Maybe we can pack the visitor side too cause there prob won't be too many Livingston fans over there! AND...Jason McCleod from the Christian football movie...Facing the Giants...is trying to arrange his schedule cause he wants to come!! SO exciting!!
