They were reported to have 4 first downs. Maxpreps shows them with 97 total yards. 24 rushing and 73 passing. That sounds low.I'd like to know the final detailed stats.

Totally agree…that 2nd half comeback against Huntsville was pretty impressive too! This was the best called game for the current OC’s career. He could have been tempted to try to do too much, but he stuck to clock-burning efficiency. Simple three-yard runs are back breakers, and they were against MH. They would have loved for us to try something silly and give them more turnovers. Huge hats off to Gizzi.
And one of those first downs was on a terrible PI penaltyMidlothian had 4 first downs to PNG’s 15. PN-G led time of possession 32:21 to 15:39. MH punted 7 times in the first 3 quarters. MH running back Davis finished the game with 24 yards on 13 carries. He had been averaging over 100.
Yes they had about 120 passing yards almost all on two playsThey were reported to have 4 first downs. Maxpreps shows them with 97 total yards. 24 rushing and 73 passing. That sounds low.
There was 1Yes they had about 120 passing yards almost all on two plays
The flea flicker and the WR screen YAC I don’t remember another caught ball by any other receiver on another play
2nd QYes they had about 120 passing yards almost all on two plays

5 Bucks says that was Joseph keeping him cool. But also it could be Joseph telling him to shut down and run in these situations because he sees something. I was referring to Ashworth getting his feet wet. Doesn't matter who the opponent was. He stepped into some big shoes so I think its ok to get the "firsts" out of the way quickly. Like an interception. This was basically Ashworth’s first start against a varsity defense. No disrespect, but I’m not sure if Ennis qualifies.
Regardless, it’s another step up in difficulty from MH to SOC - but if anyone can get it done, it’s JJ
Perfect plan. Burn clock, score, make a couple of defensive stops, and maybe a big special teams play and we’ll be in good shape.SOC will stack the box. Blitz. Play single coverage. We will have to mix in RB screens. Quick passes. One issue I had last night was the slow developing pass plays against a team blitzing so much. Our WRs can win one on one's in the quick passing game. Run some zone reads. Not direct QB runs. SOC will be very aggressive. Have to scheme that to our advantage while staying within our offensive identity.
With sacks and TFLs figured in rushing total maybe close. They were reported to have 4 first downs. Maxpreps shows them with 97 total yards. 24 rushing and 73 passing. That sounds low.
To win one score games your offensive team has to wear down the opponent’s defense to win the end of the 4th Q. A defensive minded HC understand how you accomplish that goal during the first three plus quarters of the game. To be able to keep the ball away from the MHHS offense for the last three and half minutes of the game was a work of dedication to the pregame strategy. You have to pound the rock, wrestle , and pancake block opponent to take the spirit out of them in the final moments of the game.5 Bucks says that was Joseph keeping him cool. I just hope at this level Jizzy has the instinct against a very fast, very leathal defense to decide the game
True but also... your first day to the internet? That's whats this is about. We all have opinions. That's what makes it fun. You start attacking the kids... then nah, you out. You can even tell me to eff off. Trust me... none of the coaches give a good grief about what we think. What high school are you calling plays for at the moment, maybe you can apply for the position next year if the jobs comes available. With the new QB I think he is just trying to keep him from just be overwhelmed and running plays to his strengths. When Bailey took over years ago it wasn’t in the 2nd game of the playoffs it was the 3rd are 4th week of the regular season.
I agree. That will be the difference here. Our stop against the run. On the SOC page there's talk about the RB duo as the best in the nation lol... without confirmation. I agree they're top notch I just don't like some dude at his crappy job on a Monday morning spitting out that his team has the best duo backs in the nation. I'm excited for the defense.I

Also, yes. Pre game planning acknowledging the newest wrinkle to a game plan set a year ago. Its a testament to the coaching staff to flip it on the fly. So how do you tune in to the new fly? How do you re- evaluate your new strengths and weaknesses... 4th round against the number #1 team who just a year ago had 180 athletic transfers with a 0% denial rate.I

I misspoke... he quoted them as being #1 in the nation. With nary an article or fact or scientific proof. Thats why you enact a no social media rule the week of for the kids. Don't listen to that bs hype. Dont let the adults mess you up. Show me what you did all season. Now times it by 100 cause you've been waitingI agree. That will be the difference here. That’s funny. Both of them together have less than 2200 yards according to MaxPreps stats.I agree. That will be the difference here. Our stop against the run.
