Will it rain is the question? I see setx is has a disturbance just off the gulf coast. I'll be tuning in and hopefully the rain/lightning will stay away.

I’ve been to that stadium once. Seats were in upper deck and the viewing angle was terrible. We could not see the near sideline area of the field.

If the Indians can execute a little better than last week, this should be a very solid win for the purple and white.

When PN-G fans outnumber the home side in any stadium, it is a home stadium.

Dogget is ‘The North Jefferson County Reservation’.

Listening to cool925. Amazing that the radio crew doesn’t know how to check pngindians.com for historical records. And that they didn’t already know what the longest winning streak is.

Longest Winning Streak
25 games, 1975-76

District Winning Streak

I just watched the livestream on NDN Press (another great job guys)! In the background I could hear the voice of the announcer at the Beaumont stadium. I could swear I’ve heard that voice before. I searched deep into the vaults of my brain and realized that that voice belonged to Dave Hofferth, who was the voice of Lamar basketball and sports director at Channel 12. I remember that he also did the play-by-play for PN-G football games on KLVI during the glory years of the 70s. I bet I haven’t heard that voice in 30 years, and it sure brought back some good sports memories! I checked his Twitter page and saw that he does indeed work behind the mike for the BISD Stadium. Glad he's still around.

I live 1200 miles away from Port Neches and I can’t tell you how much I appreciate the work the NDN Press does to broadcast the football games live over the Internet! It almost makes me feel like I’m there in person, sitting alone at the top of the stands! Those two boys behind the microphones do a fantastic job conveying the excitement of the game to Indian fans like me who can no longer attend the games.

I still remember like yesterday the Old Diamond Shamrock sponsored broadcasts on KLVI.

There was something exciting about listening to games on the radio. Long before the modern broadcasting options which are great, but leave nothing to the imagination. Glad to see Hofferth still around.

You might want to check me, but I believe PN-G had a 26-game District winning streak from 1974-78.
25. The loss in ‘76 to Churchill broke the streak.

It was nice to see the Indians get win #17 in a row and in the process play lots of kids in the second half. That voice at Doggett Family Stadium was indeed Dave Hofferth. His voice reminded me of PN-G footall in 1977 and Lamar Cardinal basketball in the eighties. The Indians need to tighten up the secondary. Beaumont United's WRs got a lot of separation but the QB couldn't complete the throws. Lake Creek's Eli Morcos will complete the throws. He won't miss open WRs. #15 and #27 had nice games running the ball. The Marching I had a small hole in it down near the bottom. Were some kids missing? The band looked a tad smaller in numbers tonight and the Marching I had that hole of missing bodies? I was expecting a bigger crowd for PN-G. It's not very often you get watch your team win 17 in a row. I guess the light rain kept people away. LaPorte will be a tough game, then a week off...and then, things get real in a hurry vs. Lake Creek and Huntsville. Those two games will be big boy football.

Beaumont high school football has really fallen far.

Port Neches-Groves football is soaring high.
Yes it has…very sad! BISD has been in a downward spiral for years resulting in a steady decline of the football programs, but Westbrook took a BIG nose dive after their State Championship run and coaching change!! They BARELY squeaked out a win over LUMBERTON who got WHIPPED up and down the field by Nederland last week. I can’t help but think how we seemed to be heading in a similar direction as Westbrook a few years ago with our search for a new coach…prior to a little “intervention”!
We most definitely “DODGEd” a HUGE bullet! ;)

PN-G INDIANS FOOTBALL

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever.  -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
