FINAL: PN-G Indians 39, Huntsville Hornets 29

Reading the game thread SMH...oh ye of little faith. At the game, the fans, Purple Pride Band, Indianettes, twirlers, G-Crew, et al., we didn't give up. We knew that the PN-G coaching staff would make adjustments at halftime and give our kids a shot to win in the second half. VOILÀ...in the second half, the momentum turned purple and white, the crowd got loud, and the Indians stepped on the gas. PN-G outplayed Huntsville 29-8 in the second half. That says---GREAT COACHING STAFF. Chief HC Joseph and Warrior DC McDaniel shut down Huntsville in the second half. The Hornets couldnt run or throw after halftime. Yes, the Hornet RB had the long run, but by then the game was out of reach. What a game by #27 and #35...great second half by #9 and entire OL and defense. This PN-G coaching staff has the "IT" factor. They are winners. The kids will run through concrete walls for this staff. As others have said, hope #27 and #99 can bounce back.

Something else that is a shame is all the pseudo-fans that walked out of the stadium late second QUARTER. Granted some may have reasons, but most of the people I saw were young with no kids. And that’s apart from the typical ‘band fans’ who walk out. So to all of you who just decided you didn’t want to watch, what’s wrong with you? Do you give up on everything in life when the going gets tough? That behavior is an embarrassment to the PNG Indian Nation. And disrespectful to the coaches and kids. And not typical of the die hard PNG fans of the past and present.

To the vast majority that remained, congrats on holding up the reputation of The Reservation being a tough place to play. And you witnessed a dominating Indian performance in the second half.

At halftime, my girlfriend asked me how good Joseph and company are at halftime adjustments. I told her they’re typically pretty good. I’m glad he didn’t make a liar out of me.

Not to beat a dead horse, but you know who else had a reputation for being the master of halftime adjustments?

There may have been and probably were some adjustments made at the half. But before the game started, when the team entered the field through the tunnel and ran to the opposite end zone, they appeared strung out and dragging somewhat, and I told my wife right then that the cheerleaders and twirlers had more energy than the team did. Honestly I was impressed that we were only trailing by 11 at the half. We essentially gave them the ball back with a minute 30 left before half, and they just sat on it. I said right then, man they don't want it, if we come back in the second half then we've got this. Good game.

Oh ye of little faith? Perfect example of Monday morning quarterbacking. Its easy to sit there after the win and claim you knew they had it. I understand the sentiment towards those that commented in real time. But at least they're being honest.Nothing wrong with true emotion as long as it isn't ugly

Yeah, their intensity was definitely lacking in the first half! I also think all the “TV timeouts” were a huge distraction and threw their timing off!

Correction and clarification. That was referring to a bunch of people leaving in the second QUARTER!

The vibe at the game was no panic. It reminded me of the Texas High playoff game last year. Let's get to the half, make some changes, make an opening stop in the 3rd quarter, and go get a score. Game on.

Turning point in the game IMO, especially in the sense of not allowing another TD. However, getting no points at all gave them some doubt and restored confidence to our defense. Definitely a mistake on their part not to go for it on 4th and 1. They got too conservative, possibly because they became overconfident, and it cost them big time!

Maybe their kicker experienced a little deja vu. Isn't the Huntsville kicker the same one whose field goal hit the goalpost, which sealed our win against them last year?

He did play during the game, so it was apparently not related to injury. Given how successful he has been out of this formation this season, it is somewhat puzzling.
