Final: PN-G Indians 48, Splendora Wildcats 6

Well, I like the hard play of the subs. Another year of maturity, and next year is promising. Any word on other scores?

Well and good. Congratulations guys. Good character by Coach Joseph in not running up the score like others would. You see the actions of the likes of Randle and Oak Cliff and they’re terrible. This looks good for us.

Nice game by PN-G. Need to clean up the PATs. Our DBs were too passive...just learn to hit and wrap up for God's sake. Maybe it was just an off night for the PAT team. Great to see all the PN-G kids have a shot to play. The back-up QB does a nice job. Good command of the offense, he's calm, and he's got a live arm. Beautiful throw to #81 on the long bomb. #2 Jude Gohkle is a playmaker. He's a Wes Welker quick twitch guy. When he gets the ball, he's a threat to take it to the house...great WR, slot guy, and punt returner. Imagine him at the Wild Indian QB spot, running, stopping, cutting inside and outside, and then throwing the ball to an open RB/WR. He's just a playmaker. How about the new FR DL #96. Big body, looks like his frame will continue growing. He will get bigger and faster. Disappointed to lose #99, but we have the best DL coaches in the state and they have some young talent. They play a lot of kids on the DL...rotating a bunch of kids.

Splendora folks were nice hosts. The Splendora coaching staff does not put their kids in position to be successful. Who goes for it on 4th and 20+ yards on your own side of the field? Who tries to throw deep 75% of the time when your OL can't keep PN-G off the QB? Control the ball and give your kids a fighting chance. 3 and out over and over again gets your kids beat 48-6 and it could have been worse. Why not run a screen, a draw, or get your best players in open space. Those coaches need to do a better job of making their kids competitive. This was another game where PN-G could have scored 60 or 70 points, despite our missed PATs, but for Coach Joseph putting in back-ups in the SECOND QUARTER. The start of the third quarter was mostly back ups. Starting in the mid-third quarter, it was all back-ups. The fourth quarter PN-G emptied the bench. Second, third, and scout team kids got significant playing time. Nice job by the PN-G coaches.

On to West Fork. GO INDIANS!!!

So district is coming down to us and Montgomery, thanks to Lake Creek, and that match up is the last game of regular season. Can't think past West Fork though, for now.

Montgomery's got a talented JR RB. He's got size and he's a yards after contact guy. PN-G has seen great RBs. Simon at LaPorte is a load. He's fast, quick, and tough. PN-G did a great job getting lots of defenders round him. You can't stop Simon, you just slow him down, if you can. PN-G will need that same type of effort against #1 for Montgomery, Keldric Ben. He's a load. But, first, PN-G needs to focus on West Fork. They are a much improved team with some talent on offense. We need to get healthy and focused on the West Fork Gators!!! GO INDIANS!

Splendora can't do anything on offense.
Splendora is a completely different team than the one that came from behind to win late in the second game of their season. That utube video against Liberty shows inspired QB, RB, and WRs play. There is confusion getting plays into the game.
