Graduated 1991 and went on to kick at Texas A&M

Joey Price - 1999/2000 kicker; All-district both years I believe; If I remember correctly, I think he was the MVP of the 2000 All-Star game - is this correct? Played at Sam Houston after highschool

Joey was MVP and was a SHSU Signee. The following week RC Slocum came around asking about Price's availability. Didn't know he'd signed with SHSU. A&M so out of touch in those days.

And he was named the Offensive MVP of the game. I don't claim to be a Texas high school football historian by any means, but I can't remember a Kicker ever receiving that honor in a State Championship game

The extra point team improved a lot from earlier in the season. It's so special to see how they were the key to the team victory.
