Exactly ...I mean the run is what we do well. Can't say we choked since we were down 21-0 but it sure feels like it being up 14.

Valiant 2nd and 3rd quarter efforts by the Indians. First , fourth and OT, not so much. The game film will show over and over there has to be a better solution in the middle second level of defense. It’s an open invitation right now to run through that door. Texas City abused that all night long.

TC had an advantage with playing pass defense from the 5. That back line is a 12th defender. Adams or three doses of Trahan behind Ware would have gotten that 5 yards and a TD.

Just went from a possible 2nd place to likely 4th place. That is if the purple Indians can beat the green Indians next week.

On a positive note the coaches rallied the team and the team played TC tougher than anyone expected. Just couldn't keep up the momentum and weaknesses were too great to recover from.

But a lot better showing than last year and the win was within grasp. Thanks to the players who hustled and worked for it.

4 consecutive passes from the 5 yard line?
1 from the 25, 4 from the 5. That first pass was great. Guarnere almost fought through the tackles for a TD. The second was knocked down by a DL. Third pass was in Guarnere’s hand in the end zone but the defender stripped it. Fourth pass, Crippen was pressured and threw it away. Bergeron was wide open at the 8 with several blockers in front of him. 5th pass Crippen was pressured and threw it away. Bergeron was crossing and wide open in the back of the end zone. So close.

Kudos to TC's defense for the clutch performance on that OT drive.

Kudos to the the Indians offense for scoring 42 points on a defense allowing 2 TDs per game on average.

Actually we could get 3rd place with TC win over BH (which is not much better), but I have a feeling that BH might take that one. If it were not for another late game defensive collapse and some bonehead play calling in OT we would have a much better chance in the playoffs.

After waking to a new day with clearer thought it’s easier to recognize that the Indians played a hell of a game against a TC team that everyone thought would dominate. It would have been nice if PNG had won and solidified a #2 spot in district but it didn’t work out. There were noticeable adjustments made by coaches in the 2nd quarter to counter the Stingarees. And the 3rd quarter was fun to watch. But the Stings came up off the mat and rallied. They are a good team and no one should be surprised.

The offense produced almost 450 yards and 42 points against the best defense in the district. Outstanding play by many individual players.

A few tweaks on defense with focus on tackling and pass defense will do wonders. Broken record I know but finding a solution to reinforce the middle of the defense against the run and remembering to look for the ball when defending a pass will change everything.

Thanks Indians and forgive us fanatics for the vitriol. We just want to see you do the best you can and win.
