Texas City 2021 Preview
Coach: Leland Surovik. Lettermen R/L: 34/14. Starters returning O/D: 6/9. 2020: 3-6/3-4 district.

Players to watch: WR/DB Brandon Jolly (5-10, 160, 4.6), LB Bryce Hinton (5-11, 195, 4.6), LB Jamal Gray (5-10, 200, 4.6), DE Szyron Scott (6-1, 215, 4.7), QB Jacob Duran (6-1, 205, 4.8), RB Caleb Bell (5-11, 225, 4.7). Top juniors: TE/DB Aldrick Stromile (6-1, 215, 4.8), WR/DB Kenyon Parker (6-1, 170, 4.5). Top sophomore: LB Camryn Greif (6-1, 200, 4.7).

Other prospects: TE/DE Evan Tullos, RB Trini Garcia, DL Christian White, RB/DL Caden Teeples, OL Logan Silvertooth.

2021 notes: Texas City looks to take a step forward in 2021 as Surovik welcomes back 34 lettermen and 15 starters from a team that just missed out on the playoffs a year ago. WR/DB Jolly (313 yards, 3 TDs rushing; 15-294 yards, 3 TDs rushing; 45 tackles, 3 TFL) does a little bit of everything for the Stingarees including returning kicks. QB Duran (545 yards, 5 TDs passing) is a three-year letterman and is back to pilot the offense, so keep an eye on sophomore RB Bell (393 yards, 8 TDs rushing), who impressed in backup duty a year ago. LB Hinton (57 tackles, 5 TFL) and LB Gray (81 tackles, 1 INT) are the senior leaders of the defense, while the sky is the limit for sophomore DE Scott (40 tackles, 10 TFL, 6 sacks), who started nine games for Texas City as a freshman.

Come on Indians. Play to your potential and show the world what you can do. Hit hard, wrap up, go 100% every play. Cover your defensive responsibilities. Linebackers need to step it up and stop that middle run. Middle linebacker if you're not making or near the tackle every play you're not doing your job. Intensity every play. Be a leader.

I am at the game tonight. Where are the PN-G fans? Texas City looks the part. They pass the eye test.
