Hallsville sort of snuck into the playoffs. They won their last district game against Mt. Pleasant to get in. They were 1-9 last year and weren’t expected to be playoff bound. I don’t think PNG will have much of an issue with the Bobcats.

If we beat them who would we face in the second round of the playoffs?

Baseball school
A town half in Gregg Co half in Harrison Co
(Longview / Marshall) which is rare one school district in 2 counties
Never very good at football even though sandwiched between two traditional football schools
Texas High beat them 56-0
But I believe TXK Gameday is hiding games from this year (smart)

Hallsville had a pretty good team in 1963. 12-1-1 record and a semi-final appearance.

The San Augustine Wolves were 10-0 that year, district champs and had outscored opponents 302-60.

Hallsville and SA met in the bi-district game.

Folks familiar with San Augustine may recall a very tough running back, Robert Bickley, who was an almost unstoppable force for the Wolves. Legend has it that two defenders tried to tackle him on a play. He hit them so hard that both were knocked out cold.

Longtime SA fans have never forgotten all the flags thrown against the Wolves in that game that negated multiple touchdowns and ended in a 14-8 Hallsville win. Bickley went on to play at TCU.

That was Hallsville’s best football season.

Only game I could find. Hallsville vs Pine Tree. 4th game of the season.
They have a running QB, good runner, have speed to block field goals. Good special teams. Good receivers. Good kickoff return.
Likes hurry up offense.
They don't quit when behind.
Defense has holes. We can run on them.
They will stack the box to the max. One huge nose guard but limited mobility.
Secondary can be beat Long.

I'm not finding much about them. Other than HUDL, MaxPreps.
Please share your sources if you do
Look on YouTube. I watched Hallsville vs Longview Pine Tree. Looks to me the Oline is about to dominate. They have a spread offense that has decent receivers which can hurt us if the secondary is not playing great, but to counteract that get to the QB and pressure him all day and watch the screens

Yea, after seeing this game I think they are a better team than their record indicates. Looks like they have a lot of don't quit in them.
