Has everyone gotten shy all of a sudden?

I think many are being respectful of the Burnetts for now. I even feel a little bad about the speculation post I made. However, people have wanted to discuss this for a while now. The time is here to discuss it.

It was sad. Matt was smiling but his wife and kids were upset. His mom told me "God works in mysterios ways and things happen for a reason". She seemed ok with it all.

His mom is right! Matt is the kind of guy that believes it, that is why he was smiling! The only way you get through something like this is trusting in the man upstairs. Can I get an Amen? Hey, just want to say that Matt has had a great career here at PN-G and has brought many blessings upon this great community that bleeds that beautiful color purple that we all know and love. He will be remembered for a long time for the great coach and role model that he was for the many kids that played for him. Thanks Matt for a great time!

BTW, I've been in the hospital for a week otherwise I would have posted sooner! :crip:

It's a tough decision with no definitive 'best' choice. Perfect example is the 1989 decision to select Danny Malone as the new PNG head coach. Malone is highly respected by most and turned the program around for a brief period. Yet I would argue that he was not the best choice of available candidates. Malone was picked over Bruce Bush, a former PNG player and coach who went on to win over 200 games as a head coach. That's good for a spot in the top 20 or so all-time in Texas HS football. Coach Bush would have arguably been the best choice and a coach that would have stuck around. Hindsight is 20-20.

I have been lurking for a long time and expected to see this board popping with post. What's up?

It's just a waiting game now.

What I am going to say may be taken negatively by some, so I am sorry if I offend anyone. (And I by all means do not direct this at the two I quoted) Everyone that was griping on here got their way. I hope all of you are happy. So now it's a waiting game for something else to come along for everyone to gripe about. It's kinda sad.

 Do you really think the school board made this choice based on this message board? Give me a break. Once again, Burnett made the playoffs only THREE times in the last eight years. This is in a 4-A district where he has the highest participation in grades 9-12 and three teams (now 4) make the playoffs. That is what is truly sad. I do not even have to mention his record versus Neumann over at Nederland. :flaming:

Central have gone 4 rounds deep! I saw a few Indian fans supporting us the last 3 games. Just want you to know that we appreciate that. O0
