Maybe you should look again. Jerry Vance has won back to back state championships in 06' and 07'. Faircloth is the OC for the most storied HS team in Texas and they went 12-1 last year. I could go on, but it don't matter to sour people who can never be satisfied. If Danaher leaves and is the next coach who is the joke on?

I think they both would make a good choice. I think Danaher would be here close to ten years which would give him time to put in his system. Our younger coaches would benefit greatly from him also. He has a lot to offer them as well.

I'm pretty pleased with the list. It seems as if Danaher and Vance are the frontrunners for the job but we could very well be surprised. Does anyone know what offenses they run? From what I've been reading it seems that both are a run-oriented offense (which fits at PNG). Also, would either of these coaches bring in some young OC/DC with them to help jumpstart things?

I'm excited already!

Between Marc Keith, Lonnie Beaumont, and Ken Cummings, I think the committee is well capable of deciding for themselves who will be the best match for our district.

You are not going to find more energy in a coach than Danaher. He is the offensive coordinator as well. As for the offensive set, it depends on what he has to work with. He designs the offense around his skill players. If his team has a talented quarterback, he runs a spread out of the shot gun. If he doesn't have a passer, he grinds it out in a power set. I am not familiar with the talent we have coming up, but I would love somebody to start a post on this topic and I can email him the link. Also, I know he is not planning on retiring for at least 8 more years.
