Any word on how Kai walker is doing, and how serious the injury to his hand / thumb is ?What are the options on varsity for a back-up QB if A.J. is starting and Kai is out with an injury ?

Sure hope Ky doesn't have a broken hand. Did he hit a helmet on his last throw? Noticed that throw was way high outta bounds.
As far as Morse goes, I am on the fence. He has the tools to play on V, but needs to play. Sitting backup the rest of the way might hurt his development.

Agreed!! If anything move him to JV and let him play. We're seeing what sitting as a backup on varsity did for AJ.

I would keep him on Freshman team playing with his group. Difference in Fresh and JV is not really that great. Great Freshman at the 4A level still play Freshman football, but great Sophomores skip JV to Varsity.

I spoke with Ky's dad last night at the QB club mtg. and he said that he broke his thumb. Dr. says he'll return around the Ned game, hopefully.
He actually broke it early on when he was spun around and thrown down. He put his hand down and broke it then. That high pass to A.J. (1 handed catch) was the result of the broken thumb. He didn't tell anyone about it until after he had played 2-3 more series.

Morse has been staying for Varsity practice most days since school started. I'm pretty sure he's playing with the freshmen.

I really hope they do not move the freshman QB up to varsity. No disrespect to him, but there is a tremendous difference in Freshman football and Varsity football. I just don't see Coach Faircloth doing that. I think it is better to play in the freshmen games than to sit and watch on fridays. Also, with our team struggling some this year, it would be almost unfair to expect much out of a freshman player. I wish nothing but the best of luck to the young man. Ideally, AJ plays lights out and Kai comes back healthy after a few weeks ready to roll.

Enterprise says that Kyle is out 4-5 weeks..not sure when the Nederland game is? I know it's typically been fairly early in district play lately.
