Friday night is going to be a big deal for the Indian Nation. Mid-County Madness is a big thing every year, but this year is especially important. Bum & Wade Phillips will be in our town - in our stadium - for this game. This game will be re-broadcasted Saturday for the entire state to see and reporters from all over will be on-hand to record yet another episode of the greatest high school rivalry out there.
More importantly, this is a chance for PN-G to make a statement.
If there is any time where PN-G fans, students, alumni and employees need to step up to the plate and leave a lasting impression, it's now. All eyes are on us. Whether they're on us for the game, or the Phillips' visit, or all of our displays in the Bullock exhibit, or just because they've heard about the incredible phenomenon that is PN-G, they're watching. The last thing we need to do is lose to Nederland in any way, not just in football.
Many of you know about the Channel 12 Band of the Week poll. Some of you have voted in it, and I'm sure the band deeply appreciates that - I know I do. All of you know that we lost it at the very last second last year, and anyone who has taken a look at it this year knows we have had a considerable lead so far.
That lead is gone. Nederland has made up a lot of ground in an incredibly short period of time.
If you haven't voted, vote. If you have, clear your cache and do it again (see instructions below if you don't know how). Keep voting right up until the poll closes at 3 PM, Friday.Take the link, put it in an e-mail or a Facebook message, and send it to every PN-G fan, teacher and graduate you know. Tell them to keep voting, too. Whatever you do, don't stop until time runs out and the poll closes.
Let's make this edition of Mid-County Madness one to remember.
