Mock realignment

If this ends up being the final result, I’d like to see us play a little tougher non-district schedule because the competition is pretty weak other than Texas City, Nederland, and possibly Dayton. PAM, LaPorte, and Katy aka the “Joseph Bowl” would be a good lineup

I would like Katy, Katy Mayde Creek/Katy Jordan/Katy Paetow/Katy Jordan/Katy Cinco Ranch, and PAM

Extremely weak district. This year only Texas City and Galena Park made the playoffs and both lost in the first round. Only teams with any history of a backbone on that list are Texas City, Dayton, and Nederland, and they aren’t on the same level as Huntsville or Montgomery, or LC sometimes. I hope we schedule size and speed for preseason. PAM, La Porte, WOS, Fort Bend Marshall, Iowa Colony, Huntsville, Richmond Randle. I wish Beaumont United wasn’t on the list.

I'd be OK again with Klein Oak, LaPorte, and Beaumont United. If we could get PAM, LaPorte, and Beaumont United or West Brook, I wouldn't mind that pre-district schedule either.

The one thing some here may not think of. How much do you want to bet teams like MONT, MLC are going yes please get PN-G out of our district.
I doubt it, other than the travel to mid county which applies as much to Nederland. But I suspect they like having tough competition as much as we do.

Montgomery was like a home away from home. The stadium staff there very much appreciated and respected the purple and white faithful that so enthusiastically travelled to their stadium. Montgomery is/was a great place to play and great teams to play. It’s respectful communities like Montgomery that more than counter the opposite types of experiences that we recently had.

I wouldn’t be surprised if WO-S appeared on the schedule again. But La Porte would be a great team to keep playing. PA Memorial would be a great challenge.

Another thing that not everyone thinks about. With all these schools that only have a couple thousand of their own fans show up at home games, and much less at away games, imagine how different the experience of playing PN-G must be. The quantity and enthusiasm of the fans. The 6A+ size band. The winning history of the program. And unless the other teams fan base and players show blatant disrespect, the respect of our fans. Heck, Indian fans even clap and cheer after the other team's halftime performance. That equals a playoff game experience for many teams. A high school fan would have to be either very cynical or full of hatred to not appreciate playing an opponent like that. It's a great high school event when PN-G is in town. That's not to go off on a tangent but pointing out that most other schools and communities should really like playing the Indians. I've read multiple interviews over the years how PNG is an example of doing it right and how other admins and coaches aspire to something similar.

Given that we do not have to worry about polls, unlike college teams, I am in the camp that thinks our predistrict matches should be very challenging and that this would be even more called for in a weaker district. The only way to prepare for facing stronger teams in the playoffs is to face similar teams before the playoffs. Playing local teams in predistrict is secondary IMO. Fortunately, there are plenty of local teams that are strong enough (PAM, WOS) to accomplish both objectives. There may be some advantage to playing at least one weaker team in predistrict (in terms of increasing the confidence of the team), but I am not sure whether that advantage outweighs the experience gained from playing a stronger team.

I could see them wanting us and also Nederland out of their district for travel reasons but not due to competition because they were in a pretty tough district with Huntsville, Brenham, and Randle prior to last realignment.

I'm of the opinion that PAM and LaPorte are the most desirable type of pre-district higher classification teams we should be playing. If maybe a Barbers Hill or Crosby wants to do a Home and Home I think that would be great! 11-5ad2 does not look like a strong district.

United is gonna be tight on that D1/D2 line. If so I’d rather BU than fight to get across downtown Houston to Spring Branch area on a Friday night. Plus Spring Woods would be passing up all those HISD schools to travel 60-90 miles east.

Barbers Hill shown moving up to 6A in North Shore district.

I like the La Porte game announcers, stadium, and fans.

In mock alignment Barbers Hill shown as 6A in same district as North Shore. Richmond Randle is shown in 5AD1. Sulfur Springs is still 4AD1 no playoff chance in 5AD2. Melissa and Prosper Walnut Grove shown in 5AD1 good news for Coach Dodge at Lovejoy.

Regions have eight districts each. Region 3 District 11 would play Region 3 District 12 in bi-district:
Iowa Colony 12-2 (only losses are to Randle 2yrs)
Richmond Tomas new school
Fort Bend Marshall 6-4
Rosenberg Terry 3-7
Rosenberg Lamar Consolidated 3-7
Fort Bend Crawford 12-2 in 4AD1 2025
Fort Bend Kempner 4-6
Victoria West? 10-3
