NDN Press 1st round playoff broadcast APPROVED

After further thought, it's not an expensive subscription. The monthly cost works out to maybe $4 per game or less with an annual subscription. And if this supports the media programs, and they are able to continue evolving, why not. Less than the cost of ticket(s), fuel and concessions. Maybe this is about more than the UIL rules. Maybe it's an opportunity to partner with the top streaming network of this type in the nation and benefit from it.
This is what I think
It’s like a record contract benefitting us

You’re right! It just seems like the UIL always has an “agenda” but if our school and students can benefit from it then that’s what really matters!

Good points. The only thing that bothers me is the possibility of selective targeting of us. The subscription entitles you to watch probably up to 15 to 30 playoff games a week for a month and is not a bad deal at all. And it is great that they are allowing our OWN crew to broadcast the game as well as providing (surely) equipment and technical support.

Well, that clears up most of the confusion…YouTube live streams will NOT be permitted if Victory+ or NFHS is broadcasting.
NDN Press did get approved to broadcast this weeks game through NFHS :)

Still does not clear everything up because last week’s Ennis game was on NFHS network and also on youtube for free. So Ennis was either approved for that game or did it without asking for approval. It is also possible that they enforce the rule more strictly as the playoffs progress. In any case, NDN press is probably going about things the right way as they do not have to worry about whether the UIL chooses to enforce or not enforce whatever the actual rule might be.

Yeah, there will always be “grey areas” and A LOT of confusion anytime the UIL is involved! I did find this so I guess we’ll see how that plays out…stay tuned :pIMG_2213.jpeg

Basically (sounds like to me)
They picked us
To broadcast
If they hadn’t picked us we could do NDN press
(I don’t know this for a fact but that’s what I think)

I would be interested in paying for access directly to NDN Press so 100% of the money goes to the club. Also I think it’s only a matter of time before someone brings NIL to high school. When the kids were younger and social media was coming out, they had to have permission slips signed so the their face could be shown in pictures posted by the school. I wonder if NFHS has those same permissions?

My honest guess I could be VERY wrong but i honestly don’t think what they’re doing is 100% legal,I think if someone actually challenged the UIL on this and tried to bring it to court they would back off their is just SOOO many things that don’t add up!

I'll likely be watching this one on NDN Press via NFHS. BTW, of the on-line forums that I typically look at this is the only one that's up and running this morning. All others appear to have server issues or "Cloudfare" issues.
