So in other words PNG or Nederland has won the District Champioship ((25+28) 53/100) 53 percent of the time over the course of 100 years. That is impressive and crazy and is what fuels this rivalry to the nth degree.
Might be some crossover in there, as I believe both numbers account for shared titles (i.e., co-champs two and three ways). So, may be less than 53% of the time accounting for years the two teams shared the championship.

I hope this doesn’t seem inappropriate or overly morose, but I’d like to take a moment to think of and remember friends, relatives, teachers and coaches that are no longer with us to celebrate this community week and game that’s so important to Port Neches, Groves and Nederland.

We are blessed every day that we can share this time, not only this week but any and every week with our friends and loved ones. Life is precious.

During that moment of silence at the game or over the radio or stream, remember them. And maybe cheer even louder and with extra intensity to represent them.

May all involved have a safe and blessed night and weekend. Win or lose, it’s great to be a part of it all. The community and the best darn high school rivalry in the nation.

For R&S…

About 9 seasons where co or tri championships were involved with either team.

Send a text message or email to the radio show and they’ll mention that you’re listening and watching from there. Can someone list that here?

It might still be the email address listed on this page.
