What's your early assessment IndianFan? What does PNG need to do to say hello to round 3? GO INDIANS!

I don’t like it when outsiders disrespect and bully PNG. Indian Nation fans are always a pillar of strength and support.I can't believe on a Thursday I am surprised they did not get a Friday pick on it because of the people that have to work on a Friday.
3. Our most explosive tackling machine special team player #32 is no longer on the team roster.

1. No more 45 yd and 49 yd kickoff returns in a single playoff game to a team with a losing record. no more 30 yd punt returns in a single playoff game. ST kicking strategy and coverage schemes have been a problem the entire season.
2.Clueless to make the necessary ST adjustments.

4. PNG will face D1 players fielding kickoffs and punt returns that are the best open space runners in the state with speed and power to burn. Yet PNG ST will not change and continue to put the ball in their hands. It’s about to get ugly real soon.
They will eventually get rid of kickoffs altogether. Followed by punt returns. Idiotic.Fans will be fans. Few high school kickers can send it out the back of the EZ. Doesn’t matter where the ball is kicked if the KO team gets down the field, stays in their lanes and someone makes a tackle, all is good. It’s amazing how all the problems go away when you have playmakers out there.
I’m just glad the NCAA and high school haven’t adopted the weird NFL kickoff rules.
I saw someone wearing #32 and street clothes during the pre-game walkthroughNext man up. The opportunity is there for someone else to make an impact. GO INDIANS!
Hopefully #32 Davis Freeman is still on the team. He is/was our best kickoff coverage tackler.I saw someone wearing #32 and street clothes during the pre-game walkthrough
Playoff Roster is entered. You can filter by position or class as well as sort by any column. They brought up a bunch of kids from the JV teams, the playoff roster has a bunch of duplicate numbers on it, only 1 #32 and it’s not freeman
This opponent was Lake Dallas, and their game vs Kaufman is on youtube. Based on watching this game, I would say we should be able to move the ball against Kaufman on both the ground and the air. On offense, they were a big play team in this game. Not consistent on either the ground or in the air, but enough big plays to make a close game of it. Their QB has a strong arm but does not seem particularly accurate. He is mobile but did not appear to be a major run threat during this game. They threw a lot of short passes of the screen and/or play action type. They have a decent running game but we have faced much better many times this year. After watching this game my previous conclusion has not changed: if we do not take them too lightly and play relatively mistake free, I feel relatively confident we will be moving on to the next round. My biggest concern is probably ST, as we have had problems with allowing big returns all year and they do have some speedy backs. As much as I hate pooch kicks, if we cannot get that fixed that may be the way to go.The following is a scouting report from a young man who played against Kaufman this season and won. His team was a 4A-D2 team that ended the season with a 5-5 record.
Love a good jet sweep, they’ve got a helluva receiver #15 big man, qb does well under pressure. Defense has big linebackers, no pass rush at all, our qb had all day, gotta be able to run power pulling thre guards in the run game, pretty good against the deep ball.
