No Mike Long or anyone else without a Masters according to the Beaumont Ent. We currently have 0 apps turned in for the job. Mike Long stated that this process will hurt our pool of coaches.
I heard Andy Evans of Tatum applied. If this is true and you check his resume, I would say the bar has bet set fairly high from the start. Again, if this is true then I feel we have already passed Long anyway. Please dont take this bad towards Mike its just like I said from the start, we will get guys with much better records and resumes than Long.prepballfan said:No Mike Long or anyone else without a Masters according to the Beaumont Ent. Good question! I called and asked who in the community is going to be on this committee and all I got was evasive answers. IMHO, for the committee to be credible they need people from all aspects of the two communities. I also know that only 3 board members are on the selection committee but no one will identify them. I wonder why????Gumbeaux said:I am pretty sure once some of the good head coaches out there take a few days over the holidays to discuss with family memebers that the flood gates will open....Sure you limit the numbers with not allowing a masters but they do have plenty that have them....
This should be an interesting process....My question would be....Who gets to serve on the selection committee?

IMHO for the committee to be credible it DOES NOT need people from the community on it. It has three board members who were elected by the people on it. These people were voted in to represent the community. You would open a can of worms letting any joe shmo decide on a coach. Look what happened at Lamarque.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever. -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
