Offensive line

I would like to know if there is anyone else in the Indian Nation that thinks these 5 young men might be the best collectively 5 offensive lineman that PN-G has ever had. I saw them play in every game except the one in San Antonio. With these 5 young men on the line there has been passing records this season......(Doty most passing yards in a game)...(Nelson most catches in a game) (Amire most ,I believe total yards caught passing in a game) ... ( Doty most completed passes in a game)....& Bertrand as of last week the leading rusher in the district. I believe the offense has totaled up over 500 total yards in 2 or 3 games.I have seen some really good O Lines in past PN-G years....But these 5 guys are good on the running plays as well as the passing plays. This was some good conversation in the barber shop the other day.... I have no dog in this fight but I have watched these 5 young men this year as well as last year. I do not believe they played in every game last year, as I was told, but they really look good this year. I believe there names are Lunchford, Parks, Nicotre,Braud & Langlois. Any thoughts from any Old Indians or some Indians that are not so old?

These boys have done an excellent job this season. I would expect some post-season honors to be headed their way. If I was Doty's dad or Bertrand's dad, I think I would have them over for a bbq or crawfish boil at the end of the season to show my appreciation! It all starts up front and we definitely have some hosses on our o-line.

The last offensive line that stands out in my mind is the 2003 team. They were superb run blockers. This group is probably a better overall unit.

The recognition is well deserved. The offensive line is the heart and soul of a good team.

Good post guys, and I agree. All 5 guys have been outstanding. I hope to see each of them get a crack at college ball too.

They are all very capable of playing at a college level. Desire, hard work, skill and great coaching have made these young men what they are today. They are a very cohesive group. I'm sure alot of local teams would love to have them as their O line ! great job boys and thank you coaches !

They are definitely the biggest offrensive line I've seen here in 40 years. In the glory days, the O line was lean, but mean and knew how to execute. I can't say either group is better than the others. I hope they all get scholarships, though.

They are doing a great job on every front--run blocking, pass protection, everything. When was the last time that Doty was even sacked? Definitely a well-coached and hard working group. Keep up the hard work guys!!

Best group I have seen at PNG.

LT - Nicotre 6'1" 250 (Jr 2 year starter)
LG - Langois 6'3" 290+ (Sr 2 year starter)
C - Parks 6'1" 240 (Sr 1 year starter, but got PT last year) the little guy ;D
RG - Braud 6'2" 255 (Sr 1 year starter, but got PT last year)
RT - Lunceford 6'3" 265 (Sr 2 year starter, sat bench on Varsity as Sophomore, but remember we had "no talent"...Go figure) ::)

Great Job Gentlemen. I know the glory seems to always go to the "skilled" players (don't you just hate that term), but we appreciate the hard work you guys put in and the full blown effort on Friday nights!

2nd best group was last years! Lot of the same young men.

Nicotre will be back protecting the blind side. I would guess that Nick Stasinos (sp?) will step in at the other tackle spot. He is on varsity this year and comes in on short yardage, #75, big kid 6'6" 250+, missed all of last season with knee injury.

Not sure about JV. I know the big Reasons kid (6'5" 300) last year that had grade trouble, but started the season at LT has a brother that's pretty big and is either a Freshman or a Sophomore. I hear he is a better ball player. Anyone have any info on JV linemen?

I think there are a couple of O linemen on Varsity now as back ups that are Juniors. One of them is pretty big. JV has a good O line. Several of them are decent size. Reasons is a Sophmore and is around 6'2" or 3, bout 230 lbs. Very quick and strong. He is a very good O lineman. Groves kid is about 6 ft and 250ish, he is a Junior. The others I believe are all Sophmores. Remember some of these kids haven't hit a serious growth spurt yet. So some of them will be monsters next year ! Same with the Sophmores on the D side of the JV ball. Lets just say we have talent moving up for next year and the years to follow !

I think this is one of the biggest and best lines we have had since I moved to PN. That said, does anyone know if the Nederland transfer was allowed to play yet or if it was denied?

(PNG) Hands down has the best o-line in southeast Texas, (possibly in the state). I believe only two sacks given up all year and the 20-4a leading rusher.
All five O-lineman have a good chance of playing at the next level.

Another STELLAR night for the O-LINE. Bertrand gained 174 yards.....I believe that puts him over the 1000 yard mark so for. Doty threw 17 for 29 for 245 yards. Nelson caught 7 for 100 yards. Lacour caught 2 touchdown passes for 35 yards. The front five really looked good saturday night in Beaumont..........Keep up the good work......

At the Booster Club meeting last night, Coach said he doesn't know if this is the best O-Line PNG ever had but it is the best he has been associated with and he has been at some outstanding programs! They are amazing and watching the offensive plays at the meeting really shows that.

Not to derail the topic, but since I don't live close to home, without giving anything away, did he talk to what adjustments Ozen made at half which might have given the D problems?
