Ozen

Time to put the Nederland loss behind us and start thinking about Ozen. Need to do a better job in preparation this week and Ozen will have a dual threat QB and a decent running game. Need to better job putting pressure on the QB and defending the pass to the RB.

You are correct.....we need to put the Nederland game behind us and keep focus on each game thereafter, one at a time. Hope to see them getting more hand-offs to #27 - Halfin. We somehow get pumped up seeing this dynamic young man run the ball. Let's go, let's go, and let's go......................

How is Ozen's O-Line?

Not that great. We put up 267 on them rushing. They tend to make a lot of mistakes with turnovers as well. Keep it on the ground and keep their offense off the field and you should be fine.

I agree with a Nederland friend of mine that we worry more about the way we look and what we have rather than teaching hard nose football. The bend but don't break defense has got to go!!!

Defensively, we did struggle a bit with not maintaining the run, especially Sage Saey (Nederland QB) and Krautz (22) but we got to realize, those gentlemen are the stars of their team. We had missed calls, dropped balls, missed assignments and we didn't hand the ball off to The Halfinator (PNG 27) hardly any the first half. He is one of the biggest reasons why were sitting at 5 - 1 going into that Nederland game. Can't understand why he wasn't carrying the ball more. He was hungry, fired up and ready for the upbeat action as he always is. When the passing game is working a bit, you still gotta put in the run game to bring the defense back forward, then you can surprise them with a couple passes downfield. When you revert to the passing game an dforget about the run game, it takes alot out of the players not unless all is working and all are catching the ball. Please don't get me wrong as I'm probably the loudest fan out their and this message at no time is fingerpointing to anyone. All I know is, we planned our work, but we didn't work our plan. No matter what........we are still PNG Indians and we all stand behind our players. So what Nederland won the game, let's focus on Ozen and take care of getting back to business Indian style. It's going to be a battle with Ozen and their speed, but remember, if we play our game...................we will be spot on. What do you say out there........do you agree or disagree? :guns:

Take what the defense gives you. If they stack the box, throw it. If they drop safeties 15-20 yards off the ball, give it to Halfin and the other RBs and let the OL establish running lanes. On defense, get to the ball and tackle...don't let anyone beat us deep and play with emotion. Win games, get our mojo back, and have fun playing a game. Get on a roll heading into the playoffs. Three tough games left: Ozen, Central and Vidor.

Go Indians. Peace.

This is one of the great things about the Booster Club. You can join for only $25 a year. Coach explains why we do certain plays and the reasoning behind it in the evening QB meetings on Monday nights at 6:30. It's all a chess match, most plays we run have 2 options, run or pass. You take what the defense gives you. We all know Ozen will be fast and big, but they are prone to making mistakes. The Indians had a very upbeat practice yesterday and know what they have to do. Nederland was just a bump in the road, but now it's time to forget, get better everyday, and win out. The sky is the limit for this team. GO INDIANS! :rocks:

Actually Ozen is probably one of the smallest teams they have ever had size wise. We should be able to wear them down late game if they manage to keep it close. They will most likely not have an answer for our offense which will be playing angry this week I would imagine.

Offense being angry and too jacked up won't help, they need to be calm and execute. That's what caused the problems in the 1st half last week. Defense needs to come out angry and flying around though.

guys we have one of the more balanced team in our district and maybe most of the state.Just play balanced football. That will expose the weakness, and than adjust as needed.Dont have to get creative, just play png 2014 team football. If a position is struggling go to next position till the other gets through the butterflies. No time to panic,i have been to the games and seen the damage png can do.Now lets get out there and play the way weve been playing. All teams and players in all stages have games that go astray.Being nfl, collage, high school etc, etc.Just play ball.Come on Indians all the way to Jerrys World.SCALP EM,INDIANS SCALP EM.Coaches don't need to overthing and over coach.Just turn out 2014 loose.

I know for sure that the Offensive Line, Running Backs, Wide Receivers, Quarterbacks, Defensive Line, Linebackers, Secondary, Kicking Game and Coverages are fired up and ready to go at it against Ozen. All we gotta do is play the PNG way and everything else will fall into place. Get the running game going, surprise them with that arm of Morse, turn out the dogs on defense and get that ball back in order to make them referees raise them arms for the TD sign...over and over again. :band: Ain't no stoppin' us now........we're on the move......
As Bum Phillips once said......last year, we beat on the door, this year, we gonna kick the :woot: .....you know how it goes.......ask yourself, are you going to be in the stands to witness PNG explode on Ozen.....or not. My guess is that the entire stands will be filled with Purple Shirts..........................Go PNG Indians.....SARGE said so!!!!

:helmet: :welcome: To The Reservation..........at tonights game, we will be featuring a wonderful show of "who let the dogs out" as The Halfinator explodes with the pigskin for about 175 yards and 2 to 3 TD's. Morse completes 80% or better on passes for about 255+ yards and 2 to 3 TD's. Assorted receivers will shine as the Ozen Panthers defensive backs are caught  The DEFENSE will step up and shut the run game down for Ozen causing them to pass a lot more. When they pass, their offense will stand there and :faint: when they see the Indians pick off another pass intended for an Ozen receiver. Walker has a stellar night (probably the biggest night of his defensive career to this point) tonight. Gameball should stay with the Offensive Line / Defense and the entire Coaching Staff as a lesson to be learned is given tonight. So, go by the concession stand and grab yourself some  and when the :shout:calls the defensive and offensive players numbers and names out tonight - just know.....IT'S SHOWTIME!!!!! Unfortunately, Jack Giblin is still on the sideline, but rest assured, he is :crip: up and down that sideline showing his support. Let's show him that his presence is still missed and at the end of the night, hand him the GAMEBALL and say....MISSION ACCOMPLISHED. :guns:
