Does anyone know if this was a state qualifier?
Already got an email I did not mean to slight Burnetts team. Of 1999 that came so close, they had a heck of a passing game and the defense was hitting machines Goelke I believe was on that team safety I think.bark said:Yes, our 9,10th graders are a good bunch. You can tell their dads worked with them. I believe many of the dad's played FB at PNG and the next level too. You can tell they know the game, etc...
Hope BF stays to see them through. Time WILL tell. Should expect our 1st State Champions since 1975 (40 years) with all expectations this group is getting.
Looking forward to enjoying them succeed

But, poor play calling in finals. Stephenville had no answer for our running game, but we abandoned it in third quarter..

I remember Briles going in motion and taking the snap from center. It was his/their day. Our boys fought to the end, though.1989NDN said:What I remember about the 1999 game with Stephenville was Kendall Briles. When Stephenville needed a play, he made it. The play where he scrambled sideline to sideline and zig-zagged for a 20 yard TD was impressive. He was in the shotgun 99% of the time and he ran the QB roll out pass/run option to perfection. When PN-G dropped into coverage, he ran the ball on us. When PN-G came after the QB, he extended the play and found the open man. It was impressive. I also remember Joey Price hitting a 48 yard FG and Bo Wortham with a long TD run. Hard to believe that was 15 years ago. Time flies.
Two people I spoke with about the PN-G 7 on 7 team at Crosby said QB Morse was throwing lasers all over the field. And, we've got some WRs with sticky hands, i.e., they catch the ball.
Go Indians. Peace.

I could not be more proud of our team and our community. The spirit here is unmatched! I am so lucky to be a part of it and to wear the purple and white! The journey of this football season, with these coaches and our players, will stay with me forever. -- PN-G Head Coach Jeff Joseph
