I can only remember one pass where a receiver was really open - the one to Carson Wallace (#13). Otherwise Crippen had to make throws into very tight windows. Probably fortunate there were no picks. But Faircloth is very creative with his offensive schemes. I think he'll figure out a way to get the receivers open. And add in some wheel routes to Trahan and Bergeron.

prepballfan, I agree, the offense will get better each game. I was only disappointed some with (not many) arm tackles on defense on receivers and and runners. Have to wrap them up from the waist down and then they go down.

I did see a lot more big hits on tackles. There were also some misses but overall encouraging to see IMO.

Another factor, Matthew Kendrick did not play in this game. He's the senior leader in that defensive secondary.

Tom Halliburton is calling the game a no contest. I think he's wrong.

Tom Haliburton is a nederland troll and I do not spend any of my time reading anything he writes about PN-G. He was a terrible sports writer at the PA News and he is not any better as a freelance writer/reporter for the Beaumont Enterprise. He is wrong most of the time about anything related to PN-G. If he ever gets anything right about PN-G, the old saying comes to mind...blind squirrels find nuts.

Other than that first play and the long TD run later, the defense was solid.

I watched highlights online and the defense did get a lot of purple jerseys around the football. Not a lot of team speed on defense, but the Indians can compensate for that with scheme, effort, technique, and getting as many defenders around the ball as possible. Optimism for a good year on defense.
