PN-G Indians vs. West Fork Gators | Friday, October 16, 2025 at 7:00 p.m.

2025 Preview

Coach: Dougald McDougald. Lettermen R/L: 41/0. Starters returning O/D: 11/11. 2024: 2-8/1-6 district.
Players to watch: RB/FS Smith Rollins (5-8, 155, 4.5), OL Brycen Cole (6-3, 290), WR/CB Courtney Simmons (5-9, 160, 4.6), RB/LB Toby White (6-0, 190, 4.6), CB De’Juan Kizzie (6-3, 175, 4.5), DL Adrian Geliga (6-0, 210, 4.8). Top sophomore: RB/SS Mason Evans-Pickens (5-8, 150, 4.6).

2025 notes: As expected, West Fork went through some growing pains in their first varsity season, but there were some positive signs as the Gators picked up a district win and played competitively in a few other games. With the entire team returning, expect improvement and with a few breaks, WFHS could emerge as a playoff contender. RB Rollins (553 yards, 3 TDs rushing; 69 tackles) is expected to be the featured back, operating behind an OL anchored by Cole, an all-district transfer from New Caney. RB/LB White (82 tackles, 3 sacks) and CB Kizzie (21 tackles, 2 INTs) both earned all-district honors a year ago and will be the key contributors for the defense. McDougald says a lack of size across the board is still a concern going into fall camp.

Isn't it homecoming week? I live out of town. I'm guessing the locals are busy with homecoming activities. Are we still holding out kids this week for precautionary reasons? I'm ready for the Indians to go Gator hunting.

It's been very quiet here.
Are we focused on this game as we should be?
Concern it’s the calm before the storm (MCM and Montgomery). Can never take success for granted. PNG Fans will know within the first 5 minutes if team is mentally prepared for West Fork and still hungry. 2025 Team has not won anything (district title) or established it’s own legacy in PNG history. With each week need constant improvement. Next man up mentality.
I want the focus back on special team play (kickoffs, extra points) execution.

I suspect that the coaches and team are indeed preparing and focused each week. All the fans can do is show up and inject enthusiasm and noise. Especially when the other team gains any momentum offensively.

Games will ebb and flow. Great plays will happen. Mistakes will happen. In the end all that matters is that the scoreboard shows 1 more point for the Indians.

Yes, Homecoming.

That’s the thing that sets the INDIAN NATION apart from EVERY other HS program in the world
It’s a team effort including fans in the seats
When I bring guests after I’ve talked INDIANS with them
One friend I brought to the second LH playoff game he turned to me and said “I get it now”
I said- right? That intensity is what makes PNG WHO ARE WE (who we are grammatically)
We feel like it’s US (AND IT IS) that creates the magic

It’s a culture. It’s a feeling that only PN-G alumni and close fans can live. Strong enough to cause goose bumps every time Cherokee is played. Birth to death.

Haters call it a cult. All the while wishing they had even a fraction of the enthusiasm and support, even when they don’t admit it.

Yes, every school has some version of their own spirit. But many are average at best, weak or almost non-existent.

Every person I ever took to a game picked up on it. It wasn’t anything as important as the gift of the Holy Spirit, but they were filled with some PN-G Indian Spirit which might just be the next best thing. And they always want to return to it.

Gary Joseph understands it. Todd Dodge understands it. It’s a great part of the Texas HS football story.

BINGO!! That’s what happened to me after I went to my first Texas A&M game at Kyle Field years ago and got “baptized” by the Spirit of the 12th Man…didn’t go to school there, but the atmosphere, traditions, and pride got into my soul…there’s NOTHING like Aggieland, except PNG of course and haters call it a “cult” too…lol!
