PN-G vs Crosby

I think it was great play calling by Faircloth and the players did the rest. I know it sounds basic but it was basic. Great win by purple & white . 230 left on the clock is a lot of time for Faircloth and his staff to pull out a win and that's just what they did.

Cooper Hammond, Jose Ceja, Peyton Proenza, Cade Billeaud, Jaylan Williams... all stepped up and made great offensive plays when needed.

Kudos to Hammond on a clutch catch on that first TD drive. And powering for a much needed first down late in the game. He fought through several Crosby tacklers to pick up an extra 6 yards and the first down.

And super kudos to that offensive line. They took it to the next level on that last game winning drive, stayed with their blocks, and pushed a very solid Crosby defensive line down the field.

I rewatched the game this morning and great win. 2 things that still bother me. Special Teams, on the kick off return 3 PNG defenders had all the opportunity to tackle him and they didn’t even make an attempt. Look for yourself.

Defensively all you have to do against us is run to the outside. We do a VERY poor job containing the corners. All of the big plays against us are too the corners.

Please Coach Templin please teach the fundamentals of containing the corners and watch game film of your kick off team and lack of effort.

I agree I just don't see any defense anymore. The game has changed over the years it's all about offense, no one tackles anymore

Agreed about no defense anymore, but what angers me is the lack of just fundamentals on defense and at times the lack of effort like its coached to be that way.

From the NFL down, football is continuously being tamed because of health concerns.

I am from an error where if you took someone's head off on defense you got a pat on the back and was on the high-light reel but now if you you take someone's head off you get penalties and suspensions "But" the fundamentals can still be taught, it's just these days defenders have to dance the offensive guy to the ground.

It’s not all about the knocking someone’s head off it’s about fundamentals and being in the right positions!!

Controlled aggression. Technique. Stay in position. Take care of your responsibility.

Doesn't get much more fundamental than that. Is that taught and practiced in 2018?

I agree with both justafan and Indian fan fundamentals must be in the playbook in the off season. I really don't think wrapping guys up staying in position doing the fundamentals will put us on the rador as a progressive program.
