PNG football program ranked #36 by DCTF - based on last 6 years

36 out of 1500-1600+ schools. Easily top 2% and that’s factoring in 1 subpar season (2020) and 1 mediocre season (2021) prior to the start of the Joseph era. Not too shabby. Continued excellence ahead.

Especially when you consider the advantages they took/used to win. Asterisk goes next to that success for eternity. But you’ll never see that reported by the Texas media machine.

I would say PN-G was above average in 2021 I know alot of teams that would take a 3 round playoff run and consider it a good year

Yeah. The number of years is somewhat arbitrary. Why not 5 year (61/12 .836 ST 1 SF 2 10W 4) or 4 year (53/7 .883 ST 1 SF2 10W 4)?

Kudos to those teams for achieving excellence and winning some championships, but it needs to be done within the established rules AND unspoken rules of honor. Classifications exist for a reason. This is not the NFL or NCAA where you draft, trade and portal players in to win.

PNGISD: 5,400 students
DISD: 140,000 students

Nearly 28x larger. Of course the high school age number is lower, but if you crunch the numbers that’s roughly the equivalent of a ~47,000 high school age population compared to ~1,700 at PN-G. Any school that benefits from a system that allows even 1 athletic transfer from a pool beyond a typical attendance zone should play in an appropriate classification that reflects their available student/athletic population. In the case above, 6A D1. And higher if a large school classification is ever created.

Wonder if the UIL and state will return Texas high school football to a fair game between all teams.

Imagine if we could choose players from WOS PAM Ned and BMT we would beat SOC 50-0
Combine those players and every county within probably an 80+ mile radius, and you MIGHT have the same student athlete population that Dallas ISD provides to a certain school. When you consider that context then the true measure of the advantage they have screams loud and clear.
