Obviously, I am very happy with the final outcome of this great MCM contest, however I never once thought from the opening kickoff that things were going to be in our favor. The final minutes of the game proved how much heart and desire the Indians have, the way your kids fought back with determination and physical play definitely impressed me (and to be honest, scared the daylights outta me). I was fully expecting to see you score on that last play and send the game into OT. Your kids and coaches deserve a world of credit (and not complaints) for having the fortitude to battle so hard throughout the game, and again especially in the last quarter. Our biggest advantage last night was having Forney and Sonnier both back and in great form. THAT was the difference, imo. And I was impressed with our play calling (for a change), mixing up the spread and w'cat offenses.

All told it was one of the best and most exciting HS games that this area has ever seen.
The guys who broadcast for KLVI interviewed some gent that runs or operates a Texas HS sports museum somewhere in the Dallas area (I believe). This guy said that he has heard about our great rivalry for years and finally made it to town to witness it for himself. The man was VERY impressed with what he saw from both sides and the whole atmosphere of the game and all the pre-game festivities at both schools and stated that THIS was one of the most outstanding rivalries he has ever witnessed.
If I understood the announcers correctly, there should be a good spread about this in one of the local Sundays newspapers. (sorry the details on this are kinda sketchy but I had a hard time understanding alot of their conversation.
Even though I was unable to attend last niight's game (due to personal reasons), I still felt the excitement throughout the entire game.

Best of luck neighbors throughout the rest of your season and keep the faith...things WILL improve.

While this is certainly a disappointing loss and season up to this point in terms of wins, please remember that despite the win-loss columns, the players on the field are living their dreams and giving their best.
There have been many, many past PN-G teams who had the same pride in wearing purple and white as any team in the past who unfortunately had losing records.

This season has been a paradox in some ways. In certain categories this team is as good or better than the 2009 team was. In some areas it's not. A few breaks are really all that separate the 2010 team from the same early 2009 success.
In 2009 three of the first four wins were by a total of 14 points. In 2010 three of the first four losses have been by 16 points. The game last night could have gone either way.

So don't begin tearing things down. There are 5 games left and 100% support will benefit everyone and everything.

'Indian Spirit' and pride will not allow the players to give up. And the coaches will be doing their best to adjust.

So as fans consider doing the same and get behind the team.

good post. We, as fans, need to stand behind them through the good and the not so good.

BTW, I hope Doty is not hurt. He kept dealing with a knee/leg all night. I hope is was the brace and not an injury

As usual Yankeedawg you are a class act. We appreciate your support and encouragement. I for one plan to be here to the end and root the Indians forward the next 5 games. Anything can happen and I believe we can still make some noise in district.

Hey YD, Thanks for "the gift". It really got a laugh out of us, which was badly needed after last night!

Take care of Mrs. YD.
